Project and a Doll A Week Challenge

My goodness it's been a long since I've posted last time. I guess I should tell you what I've been doing (or rather not doing) for last .. almost three years. I feel like I've had and still have most unhealthy relationship with social media platforms and spending so much time just surfing and looking at things. Feeling I miss out. It's definitely not healthy and even tough I like Instagram as easy place to post photos, I shouldn't forget this blog, as I truly liked to make posts and put a bit more effort in things. It makes me sad that I've ignored my past doll life and spent my time in so much nonsense. I have, how ever got ridden of unhealthy internet behavior (and company) back at the late 90's so why couldn't I do it again? I try to get back to blogging. I still need to charge the batteries of my actual camera which I've mostly photographed dolls at some point. You guys it feels like a fight, which I want to win. More time for hobbies and fun, less unhealthy hanging around in social media. If there is anyone reading since I've been away for so long. I'll do this for myself, I need this. Of course, if you are there, hi, and thanks for sticking around. <3 I'll definitely try to write about dolls I haven't introduced here at all. Believe me, there are rather many of them too.

Anyway! Lets talk about dolls!

I bought a weekly table planner from Flying Tiger, where I marked dates of each full doll when they arrived. If there are more than one doll in certain week, the doll which arrived first keep their week. For example there are 4 arrivals in week 6, different years, doll which arrived first will keep that week and others are moved in some other week. I have more dolls than there are weeks so there will be two dolls in some weeks, it's better if they are same size so if I sew or craft, it's easier to do things to two dolls at the time. But as it might get obvious I didn't think about that a lot when I first "assigned" the dolls for myself for each week as for example last week I had Angus and Ofelia and they are from Bluefairy, but the first is Tinyfairy and second is Pocketfairy. Also, it might be that I can't get into doing the weekly doll task if I'm on holiday or something comes up that it can't be done. I'm trying not to think about that too much of a failure, as I still have dolls I spend time more than with some other but so far it's been a great help for me to concentrate on a doll/s.

I'll combine A Doll A Week challenge in my project as it fits with the project really well. I'll be having dollytime mostly on weekends, but try to get into it during the week too.

My first doll week was dedicated to Sebastian (Delf Yder Elf OE) and Louie (Delf Yder Elf Vampire mod) have been with me for long, I first ordered them at 2007. Even tough Louie did a little visit to my friend I managed to buy him back eventually. My Delf have been neglected for so long, poor boys finally got the attention they needed and deserved.

Sebastian: Did you choose that color yourself?
Louie: Yeah, you got a probelm with that.
Sebastian: No, it's really ugly but if you like it then why not.
Louie: I don't know what color it is, I'm colorblind you fool. Pattern is great.

So what did I do with the boys:

+ Cleaned / washed
+ New elastics, need to adjust tension a bit tighter at some point
+ Switched their eyes
+ Wig change for Sebastian
+ New sweater pattern for Delf boys. Oversize, not sure if I like it or not. Sewed new ugly sweater for Louie and great I had some old corduroy pants from early LDoll years to switch for him to match his ugly sweater.

They need, would be amazing at some point:
- New socks
- Shirt and perhaps pants for Sebastian
- Shoes (need to think about the style)

A photo of ugly sweater sewing and a photo of before making a doll soup. I bathed the parts before re-stringing.

  1. Hello and good to see you back here on the blog! I have missed your posts. 💕I really hear you when it comes to the unhealthy relation to social media and just scrolling. It has been like that, even here. I miss the set ups, doll photos, taking a walk in the nature with doll(s) and camera. It was a long time ago I really did that and felt good about it. Trying slowly to find my way back.
Great way to come back with a challenge like this. Sebastian and Louie are so handsome and have their personalities. A way to learn more about your dolls, as a reader and a fellow doll collector. And it gives you a way to connect with the dolls. Really a win-win situation.
Love the pattern on the new doll shirt. Has some 70's vibe!

    1. Thank you so much, I've missed posting here. I want to do more than scrolling day by day but it is truly difficult. It is addictive and unhealthy. It is great to see you too, and lovely to see you went to Comic con with your daughter and had a Minifee doll.

Lets enjoy this hobby and we both can slowly come back to blogging. <3

I really liked this challenge, I actually joined in after I had the idea of assigning myself a doll for each week. My boys have been with me for so long time, it was great to have a weekend with them. I enjoyed it so much. ^-^
