Since I definitely can't resist temptation of answering even more questions I'll answer Spica's questions now. If you want to see more, link your Liebster post and I can add your questions in this post. :D
1. Fantasy or science fiction? Or both? Or neither? (if neither what genre do you like?)
Both! I got into fantasy when I was about 15 years old when my brother, who was then reading Weis & Hickman, David Eddings and Terry Pratchett, introduced me into fantasy books. I've read most of those books and even more since. I've never read Tolkien btw, I find that his books are quite difficult to read. And I've never read Harry Potter either, when they were coming as finnish translations I thought they were for kids. Anyway, scifi came in the form of Star Wars. That was instant hit. I'd say I've watched the 4-7 old parts at least 20 times each or more. I've watched some other series and movies but somehow I didn't like Star Trek. (GOSH!!). I think I'm more fantasy fan than scifi fan but I'm open to suggestions.
2. Who or what is your childhood hero? Do you still look up to them?
My big childhood hero was Angus MacGyver from the tv-series MacGyver, occasionally this show goes on re-runs and I do watch it still. I liked him becouse he knew so much of different things that he could do anything. Bubblegum, car tire and rope and that would propably save a world or something like that. Also he was quite handsome with his mullet hair. :D (LOL).
3. What fictional character do you love to hate?
I don't think I have one of those yet. I'll try to think long and hard about that.
4. Three things that make you happy? (or more if you get inspired!)
My boyfriend, dolls, food, crafting, sewing, colouring (I got this fantastic new colouring book Animorphia), bunnies, cats, family, my sister's company and playing with Wii together, candy, shopping.... :D Many things! Was this any similar than the earlier one? DUnno! :D Good if I got some new ones!
5. What movie/TV-show did you watch last? How did you like it?
Actually I'm not watching but I have Masterchef Australia at the background at the moment. I do like cooking programs and for some odd reason Masterchef Australia has been something I enjoy watching and listening no matter if they're re-runs at tv. In this episode they choose the contestants and that's always exiting!
6. Your favorite restaurant/shop? Tell us a little about it!
Well if you count which restaurant I've went the most I think it is one chinese restaurant at Itäkeskus' Metro station before we moved away from that area, or order home delivery pizza from Hakunila PizzaService. I don't think they're anything super special, food is good and price is good, what other things there should be. I've been in quite scrubby places around and some of them which look a bit weird are really good. I don't go to restaurants that much, sometimes I go to Café's tough. Café Johto at Kamppi is one that I like, it has big open space, delichious salads and various coffee things. Also, Kakkugalleria's cake buffee is something I'd recommend if you come to Helsinki and want to taste many different flavours. (And can eat at least six small pieces of cake with tea or coffee). LOL. We have had doll meets there sometimes.
7. What kind of things do you keep always with you? Or do you have such things?
In my handbag I've learned to keep lipbalm, tiny bottle of hand disinfectant liquid and I'm quite fanaticly checking that I have keys and phone in my handbag. Oh and I carry handbag with me, it is so difficult not to have it.
8. What kind of music do you listen to?
I already answered to this ealier so you can read it here. ^^
9. Do you believe in magic? (the nature of magic not defined)
I want to, but I don't think I do.
10. Internet memes! Like 'em or hate 'em? Favorite/least favorite meme?
Oh I do like them! :D I like these kind of things, one with photo of Boromir (Sean Bean) when he says "One does not simply walk to Mordor" and there are so many funny ones with that screencap. And something that only opens in finnish is "Kuha" memes. xD I don't have many least favourites but if the picture and text doesn't fit together they're just dull.
11. What do you think about tattoos? Do you have one(or more)? If you would get one what kind of a tattoo would it be?
I don't have tattoos but I like them on other people, some are very stylish and fit for the person that have them. What I don't like is horror tattoos, not that they would be made in bad way, but the subjects, too much sculls and blood and gore are definitely not my thing, no matter who has them. If I would get a tattoo I'd want something with one of my Bluefairy Lin in it. Maybe in a form of fairy. ^__^
YAY I got more questions from Fyrd8th! So here they are:
1. What did you expect of the doll hobby when you first found about it or got involved in the hobby?
I didn't have much expectations, more of hopes I think. I was hoping to get new friends among the old ones (which has been really fantastic, I've gotten many good friends!). I sure didn't expect this to take me in so fully.
2. Which doll company was the first to really capture your attention?
I think it was the old Customhouse, then Luts and Bluefairy or other way around. Ah Customhouse Bin, in his promo photos he was with wine red wig and bluegrey eyes. ^^ Hehee he was lovely!
3. Is there a sculpt that you love to see photos of but don't need to own yourself? If so, which is it?
Oh gosh, there are super much of those! I think mostly the realistic ones, like Iplehouse big men and women, many times the more realistic they are less I want to have them myself but man with style and way some people photograph it is amazing! I always think some of them are real people. XD And epic Soom big men and women, with all the hooves and antlers and all the glory! Especially outside, I find it great to see photos from all big dolls outside.
4. What would you most like to learn to do yourself for your dolls, unless you already can customise them from start to finish?
Well, I would love to make my own face ups but I just can't believe how badly my brain and hands work together. It is just so difficult to do as nicely as I would want to. I know some of my pastels aren't good, they'd need more pigment and that's why they didn't work out. Also I realize as much as I've spent time to practising sewing if would use the same amount of time for practising face ups there would be at least some progress going on. I wish I would have patience to that. My boyfriend said we should get a airbrush so the blushing wouldn't propably be so annoying. LOL Then only the either pencil work or acrylic painting of lashes and such would be real pain and wouldn't look as nice as the rest.. Oh well.. I'll have to think about it. I think I still prefer to ask an artist to do the work for me. ^^; Making shoes would also be nice. I've thought about it but it's yet only a thought.
5. What is the most risky thing you have done to or with your dolls?
Travelling with them. Or placing them on concrete floors and hope they'll not fall on their faces. Not big things, but I always worry about their noses and the hands even tough they can take a hit.
6. Do you have a theme song for all or any of your dolls? If so, care to share at least one of them?
Actually I didn't even think about anything like that. If they'd have a theme song it would propably be something like... Omituisten otusten kerho (It is a childrens song about Weird Things Club). XD
7. If you had your own doll company, what kind of dolls would you produce?
Oooh I think I would make either elves or fairies, some sort of pointed eared folks inspired by ElfQuest. (*laugh*)
8. Are there any doll hobbyists that you stalk?
Oh so many! I've tried my best to try and follow them all in many places, DOA, Flickr, here, Instagram etc. XD I don't want to miss anything. That can also be dangerous since I've so far been only interested buying resin BJD's but I must admit that today I got side tracked a lot!
9. Which of these do you have the most of: doll eyes, wigs or clothes?
SHOES! XD I have more shoes than dolls, at least one pair of each and I think girls have most shoes in Tinyfairy size.
10. What is your favourite part of blogging?
Meeting new people and it is interesting to see what people do with them. Their photos, stories and writings. Each people's dolls are different from each other and that is what is interesting. And when you sleep over night you remember to mention that I enjoy posting new photoshoots, especially if I've managed to get some photos that I find that are nice. ^^ I firstly began this blog to keep up with my dolly profiles but I do enjoy making little stories with dolls too. :D
11. What is your current grail doll?
I know I'm highly repeating myself here but it could be Bluefairy Tinyfairy Lin in baked skin. LOL.
And becouse I have so WILD things going here this evening have Furontosaido oorii. (To those who don't know, Frontside Ollie was the hit from finnish singer Robin (the song comes after the Japanese one which is song by someone else) it is in finnish if you want to listen it. ^^; Robin has since grown a lot, his first hit was quite few years ago.)
Oh you can answer my questions if you want to ^-^ http://featherminty.blogspot.fi/2016/01/liebster-award.html
ReplyDeleteI was about to nominate you, but then I noticed you had just posted about the awards before I had managed to upload my own post :D
Yayyy more questions! :D I'll be happy to answer to them. XD Thank you!
DeleteHooray, thanks for answering these questions! ^-^/ <3
ReplyDeleteI'm also one for both science fiction and fantasy! Although high-fantasy is probably not my piece of cake either...
Haha, McGyver is a good childhood hero! ;) I used to love the TV-series when I was a kiddo. Also, the KnightRider! Although I was always more of a Kitt the car-fan, being the machine-empath that I am. :'D
Oh, I've heard of Kakkugalleria's cake buffet and I have to try it sometime! I keep forgetting! Although I'm not much of a cake-person as I like savory things more than sweets but you just have to try a cake buffet if there is one! :'D
Awww, that's a cute tattoo-idea, of having a specific doll in it. <3 I don't like the too gory horror tattoos either and some of the tattoos... Ok, almost all of the tattoos that have a realistic human face in them are super creepy! D:
But otherwise tattoos are interesting and I always like hearing the stories behind getting a specific tattoo.
Kitt the car was way bigger personality than the KnightRider himself. ;)
DeleteThe cake buffet is really nice, you should try it out sometime, it's been too long since I've been there. :) I like sweet stuff but sometimes that can go over board too. xD
Thank you for the questions :D it was great fun to answer. XD
This was nice!! I love that the questions aren't even doll related so I get to know more about you :D!!
ReplyDelete:D I don't mind answering questions that aren't from dolls. :) I'm glad it was interesting enough to read trough.
DeleteAhaha, I love MasterChef as background noise xD for some reason I really enjoy just listening and passively watching cooking shows too D:
ReplyDeleteI think Sci-Fi is a type of Fantasy really? :D But yeah I also love both~
... And drooling all fabulous dishes. :D MasterChef seems to be rolling today too so maybe I should get back to sewing and listen that. ^^
DeleteOo yes that can be it! :D
Thanks for replying to my questions! ^-^ I loved reading through all of them, but I have to say just one thing: ElfQuest!! I had forgotten about it completely! We had three albums of that comic at my childhood home and whenever I rediscovered them (many things seem to slip my mind... over and over again) I fell in love with them again and again. Now I have an itch to find them again... Maybe a library woukd still hold copies if them?
ReplyDelete:D HAHAA! ElfQuest I've loved for years, our library back home had only the five thin albums but I believe they have the b5 size albums now so if library far at Kainuu has them maybe some library close to you has them either in english or in finnish. :) I don't know how the translation is but the english ones were printed in better paper as far as I can remember (can't beat those old b&w paperbacks I have tough). ElfQuest has been continueing lately, as a "Final QUest" I haven't read it yet but seen few spoilers.
DeleteAww I love ElfQuest too!!! <3 <3
DeleteI didn't know ElfQuest is still continuing! Are Wendy and Richard ini still involved in making it? I remember I read some not-so-good comics by other authors and artists...
Oh my goodness how I wanted to be a Wolfrider when I was a kid! ;__; Ah the memories~
DeleteI think Wendy and Richard are both involved with the series, Wendy is still drawing, they had a Kickstarter (?) for and artbook from Wendy and Art of Elfquest and... I don't remember the third book there was but that was quite recent. I didn't want to participate becouse I thought they had too big shipping expenses here and they would've shipped all the books separately. A friend of mine had followed them but didn't order either becouse of the shipping charges were too big per book.
DeleteThey've made http://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/24-293/ElfQuest-Special-The-Final-Quest-one-shot The Final Quest with Dark Horse comics and somesort of compilation books from the older comics. My friend told me the Complete ElfQuest volumes are really nice. I don't have them but I'd really want something with ONLY Wendy's art in them, I don't find the Looney Toon style comics that interesting nor didn't I like the space stories... :P I'm picky I guess.
