Dresses and Capri from samples

You know, desingning school's these really cool sample pieces from all great fabric manufacturers and designers and such. Few years back one of my friend and her school invited me to take some of them which they didn't have any use to. And I did have a backback and few bags filled with these babies! It did take me quite long time to get inspired but once I started to play with the fabrics, I felt the inspiration to just flow in! Desingner students propably don't do anything with ~30cm x 35-ish cm sized pieces, but us doll-hobbyists sure do! I made few nice patterns, one for dress and one for pants for my Tinyfairies and here are something I did!

This fabric was lovely warm greyish beige with wrinkles. I thought it would be nice to have somekind of separate panel on the bodice with other colour and it did come out really cute. ^^

The dress if fully lined, I just wish I would've had thin enough cotton, it would've suited this so nicely. The belt is removable, dress looks nice without it too. ^^

This dress is made from reeeaally thin print fabric. I do think that sometimes it is great not to have huge pieces of fabrics, so that if you only make one dress, there's not too much leftovers. :D And with some you are a bit sad there weren't more! Haha. ^^

This stretchy striped fabric is absolutely fabulous! I first made long pants, but for my bad, I cut the pant legs too short. So, by the suggestion of a friend, I made a Capri pants instead! And! Looks great doesn't it. ^^ Little bit of ironing wouldn't hurt tough. These have backpockets and working beltloops. The fit of the pants could've be better under her bottom, otherwise I'm quite satisfied.

I have, I hope the school and Outi don't mind, put the pieces that are not my style in my "resyclables" box and shared them with doll friends. ^^ We have different sizes of dolls too, and I'm sure most of the pieces will be made in something. I know I'm in a good sewing mood with these. :D
