LDoll 6 dates has been announced! 29-30 October 2016 and I'm super exited already! I'm definitely going. LDoll 5 I was helping my friends with their booths but this time I'm wanting to have my own booth or split it with someone. :D Now I need to wait about the table prices and other information. And begin sewing! This is so cool! I'm having some changes with my work times ahead, so that might give me a little bit trouble getting holidays for there and I'm worried about how I can cope with the new shifts. *sigh* We are turning into non-stopping three shift work time at the beginning of April, which basicly means that I have two days of morning shift, two days of evening shift and TWO night shifts after that. And after all that, only 3,5 days off. So instead of five days a week I've got to work for 6 days from which two is night shift which I absolutely hate already. It will be 10 day cycles instead of seven and that's going to be rough with all the night shifts. Nights are for sleeping, in my books. I understand that some people like to work at nights becouse it pays more, and for various other reasons which I really don't care about becouse I do not like the idea of working on nights. I know I work in a factory which is running 24/7 and it will continue to do that, we just had different people for weekday two shift (morning and evening shift), night shift and weekend shifts. It worked well like that, and I'm so bummed it's going to change. I've been working there for three years and it is OK. Not a dream job but I don't think factory jobs are a big dreamjob for anyone. It pays enough for me to pay my bills and buy a doll sometimes. I haven't missed the money I would get from weekend work or nightshifts. Also, my SO doesn't have a steady job yet so I can't think of changing mine before he has something more permanent. We'll see... But I'm sure I WILL go to LDoll despite the work times changing.
I don't actually have other doll related plans for 2016 besides participating in LDoll and getting bodies for the last remaining floating heads. I'm trying to save again for those and certainly I'll begin my saving for LDoll shopping again. I also try to do the challenge Doll / BJD Blog tags - 25 Tags~ I copied while back. I think that's going to give me some inspiration for new blog entries for sure. So, interesting time ahead with dolls.
Fairyland had accepted my payment and now the order is in item processing stage. I'm sure it will take them 2-3 months to prepare the items and that's ok, more time to save for custom fees. I will need to do some plans for their clothes, I think they'll be casual dressing like usual but I might want to do some more fantasy inspired pieces too. I would love to make more boy clothes sets but I still find it difficult to mix and match different styles. I do think that the Tinyfairy Dandy size set of ochre yellow pants, grey shirt and black cardigan was good set. I'll need to think more of that kind of stuff.
Snow has finally fallen to Helsinki as well it is colder now. I'm wanting to go to Roihuvuori Japanese style garden to photograph dolls when I have time to do that. :D Hopefully I'll get a friend to come with me. We've been there many times before.
Here's an old photo of Sylvia on the stairs at one part of the garden. This is one of my favourite spots there. :)
Anyway, I'm trying to begin the challenge as soon as I can! Meanwhile I'll also try to photograph my dolls and sew them more clothes. I want to show off Lacey (Soony elf) but she doesn't have a skirt or trousers so I need to sew something for her first. I also have to order a maintenance for all of my sewing machines - and being without it will be difficult even if I don't sew anything. It's just great if I have one around when I want to. ^^;
I'm sorry to hear about your job, I also don't like working at night, I'm useless past 11 pm really, I need natural light to function properly. April is still not so close so hopefully things end by then and you don't have to do what you don't want to do.
ReplyDeleteLDoll sounds like a lot of fun so I'm glad you decided to go! I also would go if they did anything like that here haha, must be amazing to purchase doll things in person and meet other collectors and artists :D
I wish you all the luck for your goals!!! Few goals is good :D
Thank you, we'll see how it will work eventually. I am thinking about getting new job, but I can't do that until my BF has something, his current contract is until the end of this month, so I can't do anything if he doens't have something after that. :/ There's rarely non-shift work in industry where I work, so that's why I went to my current work place so I wouldn't have to work on weekends or nights and that's so depressing them changing everything now.
DeleteI've been in all LDOlls so far and that's something I really wait, it will be great to attend again. ^__^
That sounds quite stressful, working such strange shifts, it must be hard to get used to that!
ReplyDeleteHappy you're attending Ldoll and I look forward to seeing what you will sew ~
There has been medical research that body doens't settle into any shift when working like that and that should be "good". I disagree a lot with that, and without getting any further in complaining it's been the most stressful autumn and winter for me considering the change.
DeleteI have many plans for LDoll, a lots of tiny panties at least. :D
Nice to hear you are going to the LDoll as a seller! I truly wish you the best, a great time and lots of sales! Hope you can get used to the nightshift, and eventually get a nice job :)
ReplyDeleteAnd snow!!! Please send me some, my city is an oven lately! T_T I also hope you can fix the sewing machines :3 Can't wait to see Lacey! :D
I've missed LDoll so much! :D Thank you and I hope I'll get good sales too. Nightshift - I'm mostly afraid how tired I will be, can I sleep enough during the day time and things like that. Or find better job. :P
DeleteI would so much want to send you some snow :D we also have minus 19 degrees celcius so it is quite cold! I'm sure I'll get the machines to the maintenance shop later. :) Until then I need just to sew without a serger. Lacey is so cute! :D I hope I'll be able to photograph her during weekend.
I hope you can make it to LDoll! ^-^ A bummer about your change in shifts, I couldn't even imagine a schedule like yours :(
ReplyDeleteI will! :D I've been waiting for this LDoll for over a year so I don't let anything stop me!
DeleteI've been OK with the morning and evening shift we have now, but this change is worse than I expected. :/
Oi vau! Olisi todella ihanaa jos pystyisi menemään tommoiseen festivaalin! Toivottavasti pääset ja että sinun työvuorot ei heittele suunnitelmiasi ollenkaan!
ReplyDeleteMinulla on pieni award sinulle: http://dollsdolour.blogspot.se/2016/01/liebster-award.html
Hyvää jatkoa uudelle vuodelle! :)
DeleteOi kiitos paljon! :D Ihanaa, katsotaan ehdinkö tänään kirjoittaa omani valmiiksi (iltavuoro ja pakkasen takia julkinen liikenne takkuilee joten pitänee lähteä ajoissa töihin).
