2016 Plans - or not?!

LDoll 6 dates has been announced! 29-30 October 2016 and I'm super exited already! I'm definitely going. LDoll 5 I was helping my friends with their booths but this time I'm wanting to have my own booth or split it with someone. :D Now I need to wait about the table prices and other information. And begin sewing! This is so cool! I'm having some changes with my work times ahead, so that might give me a little bit trouble getting holidays for there and I'm worried about how I can cope with the new shifts. *sigh* We are turning into non-stopping three shift work time at the beginning of April, which basicly means that I have two days of morning shift, two days of evening shift and TWO night shifts after that. And after all that, only 3,5 days off. So instead of five days a week I've got to work for 6 days from which two is night shift which I absolutely hate already. It will be 10 day cycles instead of seven and that's going to be rough with all the night shifts. Nights are for sleeping, in my books. I understand that some people like to work at nights becouse it pays more, and for various other reasons which I really don't care about becouse I do not like the idea of working on nights. I know I work in a factory which is running 24/7 and it will continue to do that, we just had different people for weekday two shift (morning and evening shift), night shift and weekend shifts. It worked well like that, and I'm so bummed it's going to change. I've been working there for three years and it is OK. Not a dream job but I don't think factory jobs are a big dreamjob for anyone. It pays enough for me to pay my bills and buy a doll sometimes. I haven't missed the money I would get from weekend work or nightshifts. Also, my SO doesn't have a steady job yet so I can't think of changing mine before he has something more permanent. We'll see... But I'm sure I WILL go to LDoll despite the work times changing.

I don't actually have other doll related plans for 2016 besides participating in LDoll and getting bodies for the last remaining floating heads. I'm trying to save again for those and certainly I'll begin my saving for LDoll shopping again. I also try to do the challenge Doll / BJD Blog tags - 25 Tags~ I copied while back. I think that's going to give me some inspiration for new blog entries for sure. So, interesting time ahead with dolls.

Fairyland had accepted my payment and now the order is in item processing stage. I'm sure it will take them 2-3 months to prepare the items and that's ok, more time to save for custom fees. I will need to do some plans for their clothes, I think they'll be casual dressing like usual but I might want to do some more fantasy inspired pieces too. I would love to make more boy clothes sets but I still find it difficult to mix and match different styles. I do think that the Tinyfairy Dandy size set of ochre yellow pants, grey shirt and black cardigan was good set. I'll need to think more of that kind of stuff.

Snow has finally fallen to Helsinki as well it is colder now. I'm wanting to go to Roihuvuori Japanese style garden to photograph dolls when I have time to do that. :D Hopefully I'll get a friend to come with me. We've been there many times before.

Here's an old photo of Sylvia on the stairs at one part of the garden. This is one of my favourite spots there. :)

Anyway, I'm trying to begin the challenge as soon as I can! Meanwhile I'll also try to photograph my dolls and sew them more clothes. I want to show off Lacey (Soony elf) but she doesn't have a skirt or trousers so I need to sew something for her first. I also have to order a maintenance for all of my sewing machines - and being without it will be difficult even if I don't sew anything. It's just great if I have one around when I want to. ^^;

Clothing Reck & Shopping

I really like my workmates, they've been such a good mates (mostly middle aged men [and few women]) supporting me (!!) with my silly doll hobby. Last year they were incredible supporting and exited about the clothes I had sewn (I brought some of them at work and showed the clothes for the guys and gals at my work). Guys actually took some photoes with their mobile phones, they were impressed (I think!) with the crafts.

They had an easy day at work last week and one of them mentioned that there might be a good chance now if I wanted to ask them to make me something from metal. I had these clothing recks in mind, did a little bit of googling of pictures and drew them a simple drawing about what I'd like to have. This is the basic of basics. After a while, Pekka came with the reck and asked if I thought it was OK, they wanted an approval before making "the other two". I had asked for one, =w= the guys made me three.

Perfect size for MSD size dolls. ^^ Sylvia seems to be interested about the clothes.

Last Saturday me, my boyfriend and my friend Elina and her spouse went to visit Estonia, city of Tallinn. MAN! There's such craft stores with tons of fabrics, yarns and beads and fabric! Anything you need for crafting! I've never seen anything like that before. I bought some mauve, black and white lace, beads, snaps, yarns (mohair, pretty!), tulle and some tools! Here is my treasure I found from there! :D Also, my boyfriend spotted some thin denim at fabric store so we bought it too. ^^ I'm happy he enjoys visiting crafting and fabric stores as much as I do.

Elina already booked us new cruise to Tallinn for April so I'm sure I'll get even more stuff then.

I'm exited and nervous about LDoll this year, I haven't really started sewing for there yet. ^^; I'm sure I eventually will get the sewing going but it feels sooo... I don't know, under pressure a bit? Becouse so many things are happening the same time. I should find a new job until September (I know it is far but it feels like around the corner!) and sew for LDoll and loose weight and and and. URGH. Maybe I'll just have some coffee. Anyway. I'll have my birthday soon, I hope I'll get the day off so I can sew. ^^ Wheee.

When Real Life is a Bitch...

You play with dolls.

Okay, to clear things a bit, I've been quite slow and quiet in all doll things for a while, especially on Flickr. We've had Co-negotiations at my job since last December and waiting for the results have been really tiring and stressfull. This week we got the final results and they are; our factory will be shut down by the end of September (or this year?). So? I've got fired, I signed the papers on Thursday.

1. I got fired, but that's not the end of my world. I'm a bit sad, of course, but I'm not either heartbroken or surprised. We've all seen this coming trough out the last year. I'll find another job eventually. I'm in a metal industry union so they will pay me allowance when I'm unemployed. I'm trying to find a job from the packing or assembly in metal/electronic/whatever industry. I have experience of several years in both.

2. My term of notice is 6 months, I'll be fired since March 1st, I'll still have my job paying me 6 months in the future. Yay for that!

3. My commitment at work ends in the end of June. Which means, I don't have to go back to work at all after that. (In papers the commitment going to work ends at 1st of July). I will then have my summer holiday of one month and then they will pay me at home the rest of the time. The end of my employment at that firm is 1st of September.

All my workmates have been fired as well, so I'm not the only one loosing their job there. I hope I'll eventually get some interest in sewing, since this would be fabulous time to begin sewing for LDoll. Getting motivation on anything has been really tedious these past months. I'm happy I've received my new camera, but I've been too tired to photograph much. :P That will change tomorrow tough, I'll go to visit a snowy garden tomorrow. ^^ Lets wish I'll get pretty photos!
