A Doll A Week 2024 / Week 4 Sylvia

I think I bought Sylvia from my friend Tsuki back at 2006, just end of the year and perhaps with two part layaway so she arrived after I paid the last part, making Sylvia a January 2007 girl. Sylvia is Bluefairy Tinyfairy Basic May in natural skin, which was just changed from the pale yellowish tone to quite fleshy pink. Many people hated the new color but I really liked it back then even tough so many of the dolls I ordered were Beauty White. Her faceup is painted by Jesmo. Jesmo did many of my dolls faceups back then, and the this which she painted for Sylvia is still one of the favourites.

Back then I made up some sort of history for all of my dolls, but these days I feel like its great to have that background story but it isn't as I don't really make that much stories it might not be relevant. And sometimes the old stories makes me feel really iffy. 😅

Sylvia had some TLC and I sewed her some new clothes. I had sewed many of my girls a pinafore before, so she just needes something to go with that. I also put some effor this time, light was also escaping fast when I was ready to take photos and the thing which you put under the camera to attatch it to the camera stand was missing. Where could it be. I didn't want to wait until tomorrow so .. more mobile phone photos then. =_=

But! Isn't she cute!?! I'm always amazed how cute Bluefairy dolls are and of course my fairies are the cutest.

This time I had some props, the table and chairs were made by dad and me years ago, rug is a tablecloth bought from fabric shop. China were bought from small gift shop, cupcake and tiny cake thing gift from friend, red cupboard bought from another friend, cat second hand from IG and the awesome tiny book case with all those books was bought from Adlibris. You have to cut out the books and craft them. They're lovely addition to any doll props I have. Poster is actually a a page of Haute Doll magazine May/June 2007, portrait from Musedoll.

Few photos from the progress... I use shank buttons when I change her hands.

What was done:

+ Cleaning, and over all check out, no need to restring.

+ Wig maintenance, basically as it is tibetan wool piece (with the skin/leather) I just wet all the fibers and let it dry so it isn't as poofy as it was before. Sylvia's had this wig well over 10 years I believe.

+ Made a renewed pattern from older shirt pattern. Added a bit more volume at the back so it isn't so tight. I chose natural white thin cotton, I had bought this natural and white thin cottons from Lyon when visiting LDoll.

+ Sewed shirt with that pattern, sewed bloomers.

+ I had sewed her the pinafore some time ago, so I chose accessories to this.

+ Chose socks from my stash and Rrabbit grey velvet pumps. Other type of shoes would go with the outfit too, like light blue or white sneakers. Maybe even black. I don't want to go to shoe buying woes now, but perhaps at some point. :D

What they need:
- Girl can never have too much shoes...

Thanks for reading, if you got this far. <3
