A Doll A Week 2024 / Week 4 Sylvia

I think I bought Sylvia from my friend Tsuki back at 2006, just end of the year and perhaps with two part layaway so she arrived after I paid the last part, making Sylvia a January 2007 girl. Sylvia is Bluefairy Tinyfairy Basic May in natural skin, which was just changed from the pale yellowish tone to quite fleshy pink. Many people hated the new color but I really liked it back then even tough so many of the dolls I ordered were Beauty White. Her faceup is painted by Jesmo. Jesmo did many of my dolls faceups back then, and the this which she painted for Sylvia is still one of the favourites. 

Back then I made up some sort of history for all of my dolls, but these days I feel like its great to have that background story but it isn't as I don't really make that much stories it might not be relevant. And sometimes the old stories makes me feel really iffy. 😅

Sylvia had some TLC and I sewed her some new clothes. I had sewed many of my girls a pinafore before, so she just needes something to go with that. I also put some effor this time, light was also escaping fast when I was ready to take photos and the thing which you put under the camera to attatch it to the camera stand was missing. Where could it be. I didn't want to wait until tomorrow so .. more mobile phone photos then. =_=  

But! Isn't she cute!?! I'm always amazed how cute Bluefairy dolls are and of course my fairies are the cutest.  

Sylvia - Bluefairy Tinyfairy May 19/24

One of the most classic dolls and The doll from Bluefairy is their iconic Tinyfairy May. She's propably one of the most sold doll, she appears in many sizes and even their 15 year anniversary doll was May with elf ears. I bought Sylvia from the finnish doll forum at Christmas eve 2006. She came home on January 25th, I don't remember for sure but it might have been that I asked for a layaway and I got that, that's why she took so long to come home. I think Sylvia has kept her colour as well as Tobias has. Their resin is the piggy pink colour and I do believe they age quite gracefully. I remember the tone wasn't on many peoples liking but I do still love it. Most of my dolls had a background story, Sylvia does too but it embarasses me how bad story it is. I'm glad dolls can always be re-invented and refreshed. I don't make much stories with my dolls these days, but I thought it was fun when I did it. 

Sylvia has mohair wig by SweetNeat Crafts, Enchanted Doll eyes and face up by Jesmo. Her dress, tights, necklace and put-together-headband are by me and shoes from RRabbit shop. I adore those velvet shoes. So pretty! Christmas Greetings from Sylvia.

Summertime with Sylvia

I went to a Tearoom Tokuyûan at Suomenlinna yesterday since they had an open day for everyone to visit. I knew the landscape and fortress at the island would be a fabulous background so I took Sylvia with me and after the tea ceremony we went to snap few photos. ^^ It was great and windy, I burned my face like usual. I forget the sunblock. :P As usual.




I sew her this top yesterday morning before I went to the city. ^^ I thought it was rather pretty. It would need some.. shape? or something, but I'm kinda happy how it turned out.

Mori style

I was explained about Mori girl style and.. did the idea catch a fire? Yes. I will try to sew more. But here's first skirt try, Sylvia needed one. ^^ I will definitely sew her a top and cardigan thing too.. Similar yet not too similar to the old beige BF default jacket thing. I do think it has potential, different colour and maybe some pockets... Layers, layers...

Some sewing stuff + random

Someone in DOA wanted to see Olive and May together so I took this picture for them. :3 Natalia & Sylvia. Sylvia is so pretty, she'll be getting some new fab ED eyes like Tilda. 8D I must be crazy! So expensive but fabulously fabulous eyes. She'll look even better with them than these Hand glass crafts. She'd also need a wig I guess. Something less fuzzy but equally cute.


This shade of pink definitely suits Tilda! I think her matryushka skirt is fabulously cute. ^^ I'm still thinking about adding underskirt and some lace on it...


Natalia and her new friend Fleur got jeans. The fabric was nice and easy to sew, but.. it lets out quita a bit of colour. Or did. Not sure which one yet. I'll have to check out the dolls soon again. ^^ I'm really happy, especially Natalia's jeans I felt like I accomplished something. They both look so cute!

Now some babble: Sora*iro released Shinyfairy Olive but named her Connie. I find that a bit weird, she's clearly made after Olive mold even if her mouth is smaller (maybe it should be a tiny bit bigger?). She's cute and would be perfect little sister for Noah and Natalia. ^^ I guess it'll take some time until the doll will be available in the BF international site in white, I'll see which kind of set they'll release and then think about it. And definitely white in this. She'd be great pal for Nikolas. Also, I should take a picture from my Bluefairies, but Angus still needs some trousers or jeans. Last try went to Jaya xD becouse his family jewels didn't fit in them. Aaagh xD and that's bad! Now he's wearing the old default outfit's shorts. Jaya looks good with the jeans tough. ^^

Put on your Blue Monkey Shoes and Dance

A lot has happened in my non-doll side of life that I haven't had time to play with my dollies. I took some time to take few pictures from Tia and Sylvia. Not together, but a little serie of pics from each girl. I think Sylvia's pics turned out better since I took her pics last so they had somekinda thing going on there.

Tia is a ballerina and really has an eye for pretty things. Sylvia likes silly little things, like monkeys on blue sneakers. That's where I got the topic in this. ^^

Sylvia

My little Sylvia, Tinyfairy May. She came to me second hand around January 2007. She was a basic doll and didn't even have eyes with her. I had thought about her background a little before she came to live with me, Tobi and Kaisla. I thought that May as a mold can look a bit more mature than some others, as well as very fragile and gentle. She has a custom face up by Jesmoth. She is really cute, and has nowadays 16mm glass eyes so that she does't look as scared as she did with the smaller ones. She has a background story, I might want to add that is kinda lame, but there is one. :P

Background story:
Sylvia was sold to a harem when she was 14 years old, by her relatives and harem. That was a custom in the land she lived, and it was not being a bad thing to happen for a girl. The family would've gotten some financial help and she would get a good marriage. She was a lively girl back then, and waited for her future as the sheik's (or kings?) wife, if the king wanted, to be given as a wife for one of king's sons or loyal servants. That would be honor for her and she would be granted with good future.
There is, how ever, a very unfortunate event, which changed the course of this girls life. She was once dancing alone in the palace garden when an outsider suddenly appeared. He was definitely lost in the garden where he shoud not be. He attacked poor Sylvia and ripped her clothes and tried to rape her. She was strugling against him and the guards came and took the man away. The outsider didn't get easy away from that. While after that, the man's friends got their revence and beat her up really badly. They also scarred her face. Again, she was saved before they could do her more harm. Sylvia, badly beaten and hurt, scar in the left side of her little face. Her king was very sad about the turn of events, he was worried of her mental health as he had thought of her to become a good wife for one of his youger sons. King decided to send her away for a while with one of his sisters, hoping a holiday would help Sylvia to gather her strengths, both fysical and mental.
During this holiday in a big spa, she met Tiffany, Tobi's auntie who decided to take the girl with her. Together with kings sister they planned everything and she finally came to live with Tobias and Tiffany. Sylvia is now very afraid of men, and is very shy with boys. She has come to understand that Tobias is no harm and thinks Tiffany as her "mother". She still likes dancing, singing, light blue colour and kittens. She hopes that someday she will be able to talk without stuttering all the time.
