Squinties

I was asked to take some pictures from my squinties. ^^ So I took some pictures from them. I find taking pictures much more easier now that I've got to use my boyfriend's Nikon, a far better camera than my own little pocket one. And photographing is much more fun with a better camera too!

Squintie gang! From left to right: Kaisla - Midsummer Night's Dream Lin, Maya - Minoruworld Special Lin, Miio - At your Service Kyle, Angus - Something Special Louis Valentine, Mimosa - Minoruworld La vien en Rose May Valentine, Tia - Minoruworld Sleeping P_Sarang mod. And front Chloe - Blance Marin Lin.

Kaisla, Maya and Chloe. :3

I think these two are rather better as not-siblings. I'm sure Gus looks better in face size with May Valentine. ^^ It's decided!

There are more pictures in my Flickr.

Back to School

First of all, I'm very happy about the new layout my blog has. *Is so proud owner of this blog*

My friend Verna made it all happen! Thanks sweetie! ^^ I hope the cake tomorrow tastes as good as my sweet blog looks like. *3*

And to the pictures. My friend has this fabulous school desk she got from Estonia and I got to borrow it and my boyfriend's camera. Here are some pics.

I'll need to make somekind of school uniforms for them, I don't have enough of those BF's old ones that I liked so much. ^^

More pictures to come. ~

Picking Names ~~

Isn't it difficult to pick a name for your new doll? I've found it better to pick a name when the doll is not home yet. It kinda sticks better with the doll if it is chosen before the doll comes home. I had huge difficulties with Tia, she had like three names until I settled in for Tia (Tiana). Her name didn't want to stick what ever I did. :P I've kinda grown to call her Tia for now.

Usually I just surf around behindthenames.com and try to bump into something interestin. When I chose name for Tobias, I had three or four interesting names to choose from. First I think it should be easy to pronounce for me, finnish is completely different from any other languages and when I have that background, I wish all the names should be easy for people who speak other languages too. Kaisla is propably one name that is one of the most difficult ones. Kaisla = reed. I still didn't want to call her Reed, since Kaisla is more feminine in finnish. Maybe I'll list them all here, just for fun. :P

Tobias - was one of the three. Easy to pronounce, tastes good when you say it. I loved it immidiately when I decided his name. ^^
Kaisla - I've always liked this name, wanted to keep the finnish form of reed.
Sylvia - comes from a finnish Christmas song "Sylvian Joululaulu".
Jaya - I think I didn't have any spesific reason for this name. Just sounded exiting and exotic.
Maya - She just looked like Maija, but I wanted to make it in international form.
Lukas - for the sake of Jonathan Brandis' character in a tv series. (I was so sad when he died).
Áron - with that thing on top. I heard how Éomer said the name of the horses, Hasufel and Arod. Well, I was interested about how the last horses name was pronounced [ae]=[ä] so the name is actually pronounced a bit like Äron.
Tia - well.. her name was Catalina, then Cate and what ever. Tiana = Tia sticked the longest.
Emma - what a pretty name, soft and lovely. And international too. ^^
Miio - I thought Mio was cute name, but I wanted to finnish it a little. Miio is the finnish form, I think. Didn't do any research on this.
Chloe - just sounded right. ^^
Noah - I actually wanted to name him Niilo, after my late grandpa. I chose Noah since it sounds really nice and is as soft as Niilo is.
Natalia - I've always liked this name. I even want to make it long like Nataaalia, like one friend's mother who's a russian would say. I think it is really cute said like that.
Mimosa - this name was suggested by Elina. ^^ Really nice, fit perfect for the doll. Thanks! :D (She's suggested great names for dolls, I've picked at least two of her suggestions!).
Nikolas - Also, kinda a variation of my granpa's name, Niilo. Someone I know has a kid named Nikolas, I thought it's a cute name.
Ofelia - Pocketfairy Yoko. Just.. was really nice name. :D
Angus - Something Special Louis Valentine. Partly, becouse I do like scottish names, and partly becouse it is MacGyver's first name. ^^ I did love the series when I was a kid in 80's and 90's.

So, I've named all the dolls that will come home in the beginning of next year. ^^ I'm really happy about that.

Posing ~

I took few posing pictures from my girls (and few of boys too, but here are the girls). I do love Tinyfairy bodies, they are so pretty! ^^ Jaya and Chloe are definitely one of the best posers I have. Tobias and Maya are also very sturdy and pose well. I'd really need to maintenance all of them. Sueding, re-stringing, tightening.. Cleaning? I think that's what is coming soonishly.

Tia got a little bit new modding in her eyes. Now she looks so dreamy! She used to be kinda ... not evil, but kinda like she's planning something. ^^ Now she is so cute! She wears 12mm Hand Glass Craft eyes.

Put on your Blue Monkey Shoes and Dance

A lot has happened in my non-doll side of life that I haven't had time to play with my dollies. I took some time to take few pictures from Tia and Sylvia. Not together, but a little serie of pics from each girl. I think Sylvia's pics turned out better since I took her pics last so they had somekinda thing going on there.

Tia is a ballerina and really has an eye for pretty things. Sylvia likes silly little things, like monkeys on blue sneakers. That's where I got the topic in this. ^^

Tia

First of all, she is Minoruworld BF Tinyfairy Sleeping Sarang who's eyes has been modded to squinty eyes. I love her look! Her faceup has been modded so it is partly original and partly by Jesmoth. I had a biiiig issue with her name. First I named her Catalina, which didn't suit her at all (and reminded me of my friend's baby who's name was the same but in finnish form). Name was clearly too long. Then I changed it to Tiana, which is like my grandma would say Diana. Then I shorted it to Tia. I don't yet know how stable is this name. But I think it is starting to stick. Sometimes names can be sooo difficult! Tia came with some clothes, shoes and a wig. I've sold them since they weren't at all the style that I wanted. She has now long middlebrown Iplehouse wig with light blue eyes. I was satisfied for the look she got. And, now as you can see, she is really a girly girl and looks like she's giggling there all the time.

Background story:
Tia has a lots of hobbies. She's always going to one or coming from somewhere. She loves ballet, dancing, painting, art, singing... She is also talented in all of those. Tia loves frilly clothes, lolita style, girly things, laces, lollipops and stuff like that. She doesn't like other sweets, cooking and messiness. She is a swot at school and always does her best, does well in everything and gets really devastated if she feels like she's failed in exams or something. Her parent's are always waiting for the best from her, tough not from her siblings. She sometimes thinks that she just can't be good in everything and that it is not fair for her family to wait the best from her. Tia still does everything she can to not to disappoint them.
