A Doll A Week 2024 / Week 11 Agatha

 Last year I thought I'd definitely buy at least something from Fairyland and get their new Phoeb elf, buuuut my first falling of the year 2023 was second hand Minifee Rin which I bought from inside country. And I didn't end up buying Phoeb at all. I don't regret it, as I really like the older FL models more anyway. Rin is so cute, she has company face up for now. Her eyebrows are bothering me as they... kinda half of them is missing but at the moment Agatha (Rin) has a wig with bangs so you can't really see them that well. She's still finding her style so I haven't really decided anything about her style yet. I'm thinking of trying out many things before settling into anything really. For now she's wearing a random older wig (Hina wore this too before). I might even want to try Agatha a shorter style wig. Need to think about it. 

I didn't sew her anything new yet. She and Lulu (Minifee Soo) were with me last Christmas holiday at the in-laws place and I managed to photograph the girls outside in a snow bank. Oh the photos were so cute! I hope you like them. I'll post photos from Lulu when it's her day and in this post one photo from the girls together. ^w^

Winter Holiday 2017

FINALLY! Some new photos from me, sorry to keep you for waiting but in the meantime I learned how to make .. Tabs? thooose things! And I decided to add my dolls informations there and a bit of info myself. I've had quite a lot of fun with it but alas I notice how much I will have to get proper photos from them all. Maybe some sort of shcool photo session needed for my dolls! It will take a lot of time I know for sure.

But lets get into this winter holidays photos. I took Tilda (Bluefairy Tinyfairy Denis) and Mariette (Fairyland Minifee Dark Elf Soo) with me to the home-home. My mother had told me that the snow on the ground had hardened enough to be walked on (which is called "hanget" or "hankiaiset" in finnish). There is a layer of hardened snow on the top, soft layer after that and if you do push your feet too hard they will go trough the harder layer and you can end up to your thigh in the snow bank with your other foot on top of it. Few photos from dolls on the snow too. I wish I would've been more inspired with photographing, becouse the snow was so great to walk on I could walk on the forest to places I wouldn't otherwise go. It was super sunny holiday so it kinda was challenging to photograph dolls too. Not the best set of photos but they're both so cute! I know I should learn to photograph all my dolls together but gaaah that's just so damn hard especially after I noticed both of my girls were super sloppy and definitely need of new elastics (Mariette also fell on her face but gladly there was a layer of soft powder snow on top so she didn't break anything). I also noticed I didn't photograph Mimmi and Emmi with the better camera at all.

Just One More Homecoming...

Sorry, just one more and then I'll stop, honest! I had paid half of this Minifee's layaway when I noticed that FL had shipped my order, I wouldn't propably had fell for this one if I'd known that. Anyway I did and paid the rest of the layaway last week, and today she came home. She is Fairyland Minifee Dreaming Sarang elf head with A-line body. I basicly bought her just becouse I needed another body for my rolling heads - Alex would have hers - and wouldn't need another head, but I really think this DSE (boahahaa, sorry for the shortening) is a keeper. I don't yet know what I'll do with her or if and when she might have a body of her own, but I just put her in the storage while Alex stole the body.

Dresses

I finished Tiffany's dress, I'm not excactly sure she'll keep it but I really like it so I guess she can wear it for now. Some photos.

I also made her a little necklace. All of my big girls would need more shoes, so they're now without. I'd have some shoes for them, but none would fit the style of this dress. Which of course means I'd have to buy more shoes for them HAHA. Ahem.

I also sewed a dress for Mikiko, I really liked this fabric a lot, it's very pretty and fabulously enough there was some dark brown lace too!

Today I began sewing a dress for Akiko, but I still need to work with it tomorrow. The bust is somehow too big from the sides so I need to see if I can do some tricks to it. Otherwise I'm really wanting to try to use as much fabrics as I can. I've made a clearance for them, too thick, ugly and such fabrics from quite long time will move to my aunties place. She's and artist and does a lots of crafting so I'm sure she can use at least some of them. The rest can be thrown to the trashbin. :P Anyway, trying to sew as much new stuff for my own dolls now. Hopefully I'll be able to sew for the new girls too. I still need to pay one part of it on Wednesday and then she'll be mine. OHOHOHOHOOO. Gosh. I hope I'll like the Moe body! I do love the Minifee size version a lot. The head, don't know what to do with it yet. Maybe I'll keep her, but the body is what I needed. I'm so eagerly waiting fof the heads to come from the artist. :D

Silence - over?

The so called radio waves have been quite silent from my part, mostly becouse my PC broke and I haven't been able to access all my links and such. Ah the shame the shame! I also don't have all of the passwords and such memorised (SAD) so I'm waiting for my SO to save my PC, he already swithced in power but he thinks there's something else wrong so I need to wait some more... *sigh* I have my photos all there, but I miss all the links and such. xP

Anyway, things going on: participating on LDoll again!!! Exiting! This year, as I've not been sewing anything for sale, I've had time to concentrate to the contests. I've already sent them my entry for the photo contest "Secret Garden" and I'm working on my entry to the customisation contest "White Party" - festive events on color white, to create a fullset, not necessary to sew or otherwise create all the parts by yourself. "The customization contest is not a sculpting contest, painting contest or sewing contest. It is not mandatory for contestants to have created the elements they assemble to make their fullest." I bet they're going to have tons of wedding dresses since that would fit the theme perfectly. I have only taken few photos of my outfit, since I don't want to show it anywhere yet. I'm hoping to get in the finals but I doubt I will, there are so GOOD participants every year. It's very tough contest I'm sure. I still have things to do a lot! So I hope I can finish my entry this weekend and photograph it next week... ^^; I'm kinda late with this since the deadline is on August 31st.

I've made a list about new eyes and things that I need. And I've also peeked in some private exhibitors and proffessionals to see what they will have for sale AND I've reserved some items so it will be easier to make a budget for shopping. Oh so exiting! It would be great if I find most of the things I'm looking for. ^w^

I have some eyes, wigs and such to catch, and these guys at the bottom row are going to have some.

I've already named Minifee Sarang, Nanuri 14 and Yder elf but they will be remaining just for me until they get some bodies and face ups etc. My Tinyfairy Gus (head only for now) will need a name too, but I think I will need to take him out from his bubble wraps and then see what he likes to be. ^^

Bluefairy has announced they will have a renewal to their bodies. MAN I do hope they'll keep the old bodies as option!! I do love them so much, I do like variation but I'm afraid I don't like the new ones as much as the old. I'm exited and interested to see what they're up to. Also, I find their new Tinyfairy Torso something I denfinitely want to have! My dolls, especially girls have some outfits that I LOVE absolutely to bits and it would be so cool to have them on display.


So pretty legs! ^^ I went to photograph Daphne and Tia with a friend, you can find more photos from my Flicr. I just noticed I didn't photgraph the girls together. *sigh* So stupid to notice that afterwards.

Mariette

I can't get over how pretty she actually is. ^^ I went to a dollmeet yesterday and she was with me, I had a chance to photograph her a little bit. ^^ I've finally get back into sewing and I've sewn those lace + jersey tops in Tinyfairy and Minifee size. So far I've sewn mostly white, but after I sew this lovely light pink with natural white for Mariette, I decided I'll sew some of these in few sizes too.. Also the skirt is new-ish. I'd need to make a patter to another cardigan, more fitted one since this grey is one of those I sew for LDoll last year. ;) Always handy to have some left overs I guess. I'll be updating something to my Etsy later next month. (That's the plan anyway).

Face Ups

I got four heads home today. Jesmoth was working and I went there to pick them up. It was nice to have a chat, ^^ I think we sould have a little meet too! :D

Anyway, I can't describe how fantastic the face ups became, I described some of the face ups with quite many words and man the results!!!! =w= WAAAA I almost cried when I saw them girls and Dirk!


Dirk first. I didn't give any reference photos or detailed descriptions, just that thick eyebrows, the color should be either black-brown or black-grey for the oriental skin, very little blush to the cheeks and manly lips. xD More I look at him, more I like him! ^^ Oh wow, now he has a face! He needs new strings, and some more clothes. ^^ Yay.


For Fleur I wished similar as the Juri 08 I previously had, I really liked that head so I wished similar, just a bit darker eyebrows and lashes. Ah she's just perfect. =w= I don't know if these eyes will stay, I'm still thinking maybe a bit darker brown like she used to have... The wig I like, I cut the bangs a bit, but I didn't dare to cut them more, I don't want to ruin them.


I used to have a normal skin DES head, sadly she just stayed as head for long and I sold her, and I gave the photo for reference, I liked the eyebrows shape on the reference but wished for J to use her magic with the lashes and dark red to the lips. ^^ And glitter too! I really love how this girl came out. Uuuh I'm so happy!


For Hortensia, I gave quite spesific few things that I wanted. The Sandman's Death's spiral thing under her right eye, a bit gothic or so feeling, but clearly not as full smoky face up as Irma has. Hortensia is young and I wanted that to show in the face up also. She's going to have the M-line body with cutie bust, so I think that would fit her young look perfectly.

I'm going to sew them some clothes and then photograph them more. ^^ Irma and Hortensia are currently at the storage box to wait for their bodies. I wish they'll not take too long now. It is about two months wait now so it shouldn't take that long. Fleur gets to keep the body she's in, tough it's not perfect match colorwise. I don't mind. Some scarfs, long wig and such will do! Ah how wonderful it is to get back to sewing for my own dolls. ^^

Bluefairy Gus and some Lati Yellow

I'm hoping Bluefairy will keep the no-make up Gus head in stock until Saturday. I'm going to make a little order since I really want that boy in normal skin... If they'd make a baked skin with Gentle body I might be after that... but at the moment I don't want to miss him. I already have two Xiao's from which one is the old smiley one and one is the first renewal Xiao after that. Also... baked Xiao and baked Lin would definitely be in my list to get if there's ever going to be a release of those. Money is only problem, but I think that's how it goes. You just can't buy everything.. but you wish you could!

Marcus' (Robin) head was shipped out last week to Shibya's, and she received the head so I'll be waiting for some updates in the future for the face up. ^^

It seems like we didn't have more than week of sun shining and nice crisp cold and then became this sloppy looking spring with grey weather. I wish some bright and sunny days so I could just get some light. I haven't actually been sewing as much as I would've wanted. I'll have very little of summer holiday, a week or so, so the time for sewing has decreased from the small amount I've had until now. Last year I had to push myself a lot to get the stock I wanted. I don't want to drive myself to the burn out. I'd love to sew some pretty clothes for my own dolls too, since some of them are totally without any clothing, Gentle bodied boys do need some jeans or trousers. And Minifee girls will need some nice clothes too.

I still would need to photograph some clothes to my Etsy shop. I have quite a lot of things that didn't sell at LDoll and some of the stuff has been around for quite a while. I'd love to get rid of the SD boy jeans, maybe I should borrow a Super Gem from a friend and get few photos... *sigh* SD boy jeans or trousers are clearly something I shouldn't sew since they don't sell. And I have loads of stuff I should photograph and put up for sale at our forum... Somehow they just pile up. And are really difficult to get rid off.


Leni and Bijou got some new stuff from Dollheart Fukuburo's I bougth with a friend. Bijou got a new wig, but I'm certainly keeping the fuzzy wig for her/him too. Bijou doesn't know who s/he is yet.

I got some really nice wigs from the Fukuburo and theyyy just might need some little Lati's to fill them up. Do Lati wigs fit to Pukifee...? I could get one of those too, since I don't yet have any... yet.

Very Busy Times

It's only two months away! LDoll I mean. Time flies and some wonderful doll news has become true. ^^ I've adored Dark Elf Soo as a mold for a long time, I once had a Minifee which was head only and I had to sell her in need of finances. I really liked her so... I had the chance to order DES in light tan from Fairyland. I'm so happy! I wanted to have this doll so long and in TAN!!! ^^ I also ordered my first PukiPuki, which I'm a little bit afraid of, since it is tiny. Smaller than Pocket Fairy even, and that's really tiny. I wanted to have enough bought so that I'd be able to get the event head and it seems to be nice. ^^ More like a child-teen than than older teen. I don't mind, I'm just happy I'll have a gift!

At the morning after this I had an offer I couldn't refuse. I got my finances sorted out and got Juri 08 head. I'm yet to be thankfull for my friend who helped me out with this. I couldn't be happier. I almost cried when it turned out that I could really have this head. She'll be shipped out soonishly, and I'm thinking that she'll not be Fleur, like the previous one was, she'll be Brightbow Moonsparkle which was supposed to be the Nanuri Feeple60 Chloe elf head. Too bad I'm still not comfortable with white dolls, tough I do have several in other brands. I'm aiming on geting Bo and new Juri 13 some bodies later this year, or maybe in the beginning of next one. I haven't yet decided on the Juri 13, about what she'll be.. I guess if there's going to be any possiblities of getting a Moe body.. She'd look really nice. AND I'm sure I'd switch away the huge bust piece. ^^; More like Irma quality in that size.

It is always a risk to participate as a private exhibitor with a booth... I mean... sewing bunch of clothes, some in small quantities (I usually sew 1-3 of one color/model), I don't know which kind of clothes people will like! I sew what seems nice for myself, but that is always not meeting with the expectations of others. It is exiting, and nervwreking also at the same time. I do hope I will have.. well like last year, about third of my stock sold. The rest I'll be adding to Etsy. ^^ I've already began making a little shop in there. I think I need to take few photographs for it and make a little banner of my own. Exiting...

Dirk's new head is on it's way home. I'm hoping it will be arriving tomorrow morning OR I can get it from our local post office. I don't remember if I mentioned that I ruined his first head, what a bummer. I'm so careless... Not going to do any face ups at all. :P Don't want to ruin any more heads...

Exiting and busy times ahead. I've told my friends that I can't see them on weekends (mostly) and I'll be sewing most of free time when I have strengths to do that. LDoll is coming soon and I'm exited! ^^

Tired

I've been so tired for few weeks. Last week I was visiting my parents at Kainuu and it was lovely. I had a doll with me, even tough I didn't do much with her. ^^ Emma is so pretty. Having a holiday and do nothing was difficult. I'm so used to have something to sew or do.. And being still and do nothing was so hard. I read few romantic novels and a pile of magazines my mother had. I'll try to have the sewing going on again, I have a lots of things to do and less time to do it.


I love Xiao's, and especially this smiling older one.


We had a bonfire thing going on, I hadn't been at my parent's home in Midsummer's eve for years. So it was quite special.

Anyway.. I sold my AYS Jerome, I'll ship him out on monday after work. He's going to have a home from here in Finland and he is going to be somebody's first resin BJD. I think any Bluefairy is fantastic as a first doll. They certainly have charmed me even if I have other brand dolls too. I'm thinking to want to have Cafe Bluefairy Kevin as Áron, he has similar facial features to Kyle/Jerome/Louis so he would fit to be this character. Pupa*Casa has one... so hopefully I'll be able to get the money and buy him. I wouldn't like to put him on layaway so need to wait until I have the full price saved. Gus might be a good choice too, but I'd want to have a white one with Gentle body... We'll see what happens.

I'm definitely trying to keep my line in "one of each mold of Tinyfairy". I know that's going to be hard, but at least that's the case with boys. I'm not giving up with my Lin's or Xiao's. And would love to have a baked version of both... They're the weak point. I've got double Olive and May Valentine but both baked girls now have fantastic custom face ups so they'll stay. ^^ I need to glue eyelashes for Elle, she'll look absolutely the diva she is supposed to be. ^^ I'll try to photograph her during the weekend.

I wish I could buy a Tan Minifee Dark Elf Soo.
