Autumn Islet

Here's second set of the photos from Tobias and Miio. I have had many photoshoots in this islet (I really liked this word). And there's going to be more in the future with different dolls. So much I like the rocky shores and the pines. These are actually in reverse order, the photos in the beach are the last photos I had from Tobias and Miio, and the ones at the bottom of this post are the first.

 

 

 

 

 

Tobias and Miio at the cottage

We were visiting the in-laws last weekend and as I knew there could be nice places to have photos I decided to have some dolls with me. This time I picked Tobias and Miio, as I've really neglegted my Bluefairies and since Tobias will be having his 16th anniversary at November 21st. So, it would be great to have him company and Miio had gotten a new wig a while back so I thought it would be great to have him too. I photographed the boys in two different places, at the in-laws cottage and the little island back at the town. At this post I will include photos from the cottage and save the rest of the photos for later. :)  

 

 

 

Tobias - Bluefairy Tinyfairy Jerome 13/24

Tobias is my first doll. I must've told you this story for many times BUT here it is once more! My friend Woodoo introduced me to these resin ball jointed dolls back at 2004, she sent me some links to Customhouse dolls and we both really liked the look of these dolls. Woodoo also showed me Bluefairy doll photos from many different places, and said she's going to order one doll from them. Back then she had to use a shopping service for her doll and sometime during that year 2004 we met at local (from my home 600km - capital city = local) Animecon. That turned my head towards buying one of these super expensive dolls which look really pretty. My friend ordered her second doll and asked me if I'd want to join in the order and have my first doll. SO I took a plunge to the doll hobby, and I don't regret it.

I really love Bluefairy Tinyfairy Jerome which is my Tobias. He came home to me on November 2005, but first he went to my friends home where I had sent out some clothes I made with measurements Woodoo had measured from her doll. Shirt was a good fit, pants were too short in the pantlegs. When Tobias went to my friend's home, she dressed him on the clothes I had sewn and shipped him to me. I had gone to another city to teach silk screen printing at that time so and I woke up as soon as I found out he was at the post office waiting for me. It was so exiting!!! We've had so much fun together at these 14 years. Tobias has the original face up, Enchanted Doll eyes #42 in 16mm low dome and his wig is still the same black Dollmore. His clothes in these photos are made by me, his shoes are from Luts. Please say big hello to Tobias!

Being Busy

Ooo how busy I've been lately! I haven't had time or light to photograph at all this week, and that's a bummer isn't it. I'm hoping I'll have some light on Sunday so I can photograph Sylvia and Jaya since I changed their outfits to do so earlier but I just didn't have time or light. Man it's been dark! And now it's raining, boohoo.

Anyway, been busy with things and visited an event at Messukeskus today. They had pet expo, country expo, outlet expo and handcrafting and such things going on. There were stuff for sale as well as supplies and things. I really loved the bunnies especially! We had a rabbit when I was a kid and how cute she was. We also took a little tour seeing rats, dogs, cats and other animals there was. They had also agility for rabbits and that what super adorable. I bought a minicupcake tin, and paper cups for it and some faaabulous fabrics. I kinda went crazy with them and I bought several pieces. I tried to pick some blue and a green one since I don't have much of those color fabrics. Hopefully I'm able to sew something from them soon. :D Me and my friend were really overwhelmed about the amount of people so we only walked around the pet expo and handcrafting areas. That was well enough and we decided to go home. :)

Sewed some clothes for Lukas (Louis) and Leo (Gus). Both have new pants, and I will sew some other garments to go. Lukas will have a shirt, I've already cut pieces to a darkish grey but was thinking that maybe white would work better with the ocra yellow pants and black cardigan. I have no idea what colour I should use for Leo since his wig is almost the same color that the grey is so I think I can't use that. I want to have some kind of colorful stripe on the front. Similar to Tobias' shirt but with colorful panel. That would be great! Only needing to decide the colors.


They have a button on front, but I didn't photograph that yet.

I've invited some friends to visit at Tobias's birthday meet, that's actually also a 10 year anniversary of sort, kinda celebrating my 10th year in BJD hobby. I've reserved a meeting place from our building, they're the kind of free of charge spaces where people can arrange meets, parties or such events. I've seen the place once, and I hope it will be good for us. ^__^ I don't yet know what we will do except for looking at dolls, but I'm trying to arrange some sort of photographing place for them and then.. propably just random chatting and admiring dolls. And eating, I'll definitely bake something. I will bring some dolls in to the meet but not all. ^^; That would be too much, even if it is our celebration. LOL. Two more weeks before the actual celebration and I should be making some paper hats. :D I asked if people would put a paperhat on their dolls, that'd be fun. So exited to have this little meeting, if the meet place will be good I might have more meets there.

Also, I sewed a pencil skirt that I really liked and wanted to make a hat to go with it but dang I failed the hat. xD That was sad, I can take a photo from it tomorrow but the brim (?) is too wide and too floppy, it should've been shorter and turn more down so it would've looked better. There's no more of that fabric so that can't be helped. Maybe I'll find out a way to save the hat. :D we'll see.

Kaisla and Tobias

Kaisla is a princess and she ran away from home after her twin brother ran away first. She was the one that should've gotten the arranged marriage with slimy uncle of the princess her twin should've married. Kaisla decided that's not something she wants to do and ran away, hoping to find her brother. She found him eventually and decided to live in the Big House which is owned by Tobias's family, she has her own little apartment and is happy that she doesn't have any servants lurking around. She wasn't very comfortable with that. She's not an only child, but had her twin and bunch of younger siblings. Tobias conciders Kaisla as one of his oldest friends and they get along really well, Kaisla thinks the same, and sees Tobias like younger brother as Kaisla's twin brother was Tobias's friend and brother was happy to see his twin sister to be taken care of in the House by Tobias and his auntie Tiffany. Tiffany has dealed with the Royal Family about Kaisla's well being and all the other business there could be regarding her stay in the House. Tobias has no siblings, but he is happy to live with his auntie Tiffany and other residents in the Big House. Clothes for both made by me except for the beautiful scarf Kaisla is wearing, that's made by Fairy Style and her grey socks are made by Illves. Also, I did link the photos from Flickr instead of posting them straight to blog (?), so they will appear bigger. :D




Tobias: I'm having my birthday party next month.
Kaisla: Yes. That's what I've heard.


Tobias: I would be super happy if you could participate Your Highness.
Kaisla: You know you don't need to say "your highness" for me don't you? We have been friends for ages and don't need that sort of things.


Tobias: Well, I guess, but this was a formal invitation, I think! :D
Kaisla: Olrighty, I'd be super happy to attend to your party, Mr. Tobias.


Tobias: You're right, that sounds really weird. Mr. Tobias.
Kaisla: I knew you'd think it like that.

Boys, Etsy, sewing woes

Wow, I'm amazed about the amount of people who participated in my Giveaway! ^__^ Thank you all once again for participating. Since that was so cool and fun I will have another one in the future, no time decided yet. :D I added some stuff to my Etsy shop among the Moe line jeans and Tinyfairy jeans, I'll be sewing more of Minifee A-line jeans later since they seem to be something people want to have. Also I want to remind gently that I'm working full time and have a shift work which is very tiring so I do not take any custom orders. There is little time to do home errands, sew for dolls, spend time with the boyfriend and see friends, I thank you for understanding. ^^;

Ok, back to dolls then again! I'm really feeling the urge to sew winterwear for them all right now! MAN how cold this mornings has been last week! The stars were so bright, I saw Orion there shining for me when I walked down to the bus stop at 5 AM. My Tinyfairy Boys are hanging around at the craft room's shelf. Even Marcus and Angus joined in and I undressed them from the café outfits. I have a little bit of trouble with the boys clothes I have to admit. I have very little of imagination with them and mostly what the boys seem to wear at the moment are long sleeved jersey t-shirts. But what else could I make for them. Maybe some vests and that sort of things that I've already made for sale earlier. Also, some hoodies. But I'd definitely need some happier colour fabrics! Mostly what I have in storage are girly materials but I'd love to get some colourful stuff and then try figure out what to make from them. ^^; Anyway, I have few ideas but I also need to make them and not only to talk! I took a photo of my boys, so you can see how they are. I do think there are need to buy some new eyes, at least for Áron (Kevin) and Marcus (Robin). They definitely need smaller size eyes so I can have them look a little bit older. I also find out today that some of the boys would really like to get some sneakers. Lukas, Tobias and maybe Noah would really like those kind of shoes. I might have wanted to order a doll together with some stuff but the order period seem to have get longer for Bluefairy and what is available and when is totally different story. So still need some waiting, maybe Minoruworld would have some things in stock that I want.

Bah, the glasses of our balcony are shining the light to the left side and thus Lukas, Miio and Áron's faces are too light. :P I didn't dare to move the table or the backdrop anymore since it took quite a while to get the Gentle bodied guys to stand.

Fairyland has an event going on at the moment. I'll definitely want to buy some bodies for the rolling heads, but I'm still waiting for some reason. Maybe I want order more than one at the time, Fairyland doesn't offer Feeple 60 bodies or dolls at the moment so the Feeple heads have to wait yet a little longer to get their bodies. I think I'll stick with the plan to get Minifee bodies first becouse they're more easy to reach. Maybe I'll wait for the Christmas event to get all three I need at the moment. The heads are having their face up and I'm prepared to wait longish time. ^^ This time I'm not going to get any rolling heads with the bodies. They were easy to sell, but I'd rather buy a pair of hands with that money.

I made a backdrop thingy from thick cardboard (in finnish that's "kapalevy", kinda have two cardboards and between them some foamy thing?) and photographed some of my dolls before it.

You can set the angle of the boards as you like, they're glued and papered together like book covers. My friend picked up the paper for this and I'm really glad since she picked nicer than I would've done!

Size is good for Tiffany too. I think I'm able to photograph the Delf with this.

Lol, Alexander is too tall for this. He is currently my tallest doll and I think I'll keep it that way. ^^

This is from yesterday, Elle and Hortensia are posing for the sales clothes. ^^ They so pretty!

I also took photo of Ebony, my sisters tanning Lishe. She has too little camera time! ^^ And definitely needing a new set of clothes. :D I do think this is an on going thing in my gang, there's always someone who needs clothes.

Some more Comparison

Just a little bit more of comparison from Gentle, Dandy and Boy bodies. Mainly becouse hobbywhelmed at DOA asked about how old were the dolls in the previous comparison. Just out of curiosity, came few more photos.


Jerome 2005 normal skin (also called the peachy), Louis Valentine 2011 normal skin, Kevin white skin I don't know excactly when the Cafe Bluefairy sets were made, maybe 2013? I bought him from LDoll 4 so not much earlier than that 2012-2013. I should've compared my Robin, since he is the newest guy in the house.


Two Dandies. They are same size, no difference. Louis has Dandy body from At Your Service Kyle (was made around 2007?) and Louis Valentine from 2011.


AYS Kyle head has Sweet Day Louis's body from 2007, Jerome has boy body from 2005 and WWN Tommy (girl face up) has WWN Sarang Boy body.. Ummh not sure about the year.

So, Bluefairy is having a body event soon, at 24th September, is anyone going to buy something? I'm a bit surprised they didn't show any photos of the New Girl body. Those prices are good I guess, I'm a bit tempted to get something but I can't becouse I just fell for another Fairyland head and LDoll is just around the corner now. I bought NS Chloe elf head, I had the white one but that certainly wansn't for me. I'm so happy I got the head but I know I need to get the bodies for several heads (and one is SD size! Ouch!), well if not straight away, then with in.. two years? Would be good goal. I think I'm leaning towards Feeple60 Moe body for Chloe elf, Yder MNF might look nice with Moe boy body, Nanuri 14 goes to A-line normal body and Sarang MNF I'd prefer another Hybrid M-line girl for her. I kinda think the smaller boobs would look really nice with her. They're good in their box tough. No hurry.

I also went to photograph some dolls last weekend with non-dolly-friends. I guess they were amused since some nice tourists came to talk about these "SD-dolls" with me. I tried to explain that my BJD's there were MSD size, but different companies have different names for their products even if the usual are those of Volks' and then the numeral uh.. thingies. 1/3, 1/4 and 1/6 etc. Anyway, photos coming later. ^^ Last weekend was super great! It was sunny and funny. Yay.

Tired

I've been so tired for few weeks. Last week I was visiting my parents at Kainuu and it was lovely. I had a doll with me, even tough I didn't do much with her. ^^ Emma is so pretty. Having a holiday and do nothing was difficult. I'm so used to have something to sew or do.. And being still and do nothing was so hard. I read few romantic novels and a pile of magazines my mother had. I'll try to have the sewing going on again, I have a lots of things to do and less time to do it.


I love Xiao's, and especially this smiling older one.


We had a bonfire thing going on, I hadn't been at my parent's home in Midsummer's eve for years. So it was quite special.

Anyway.. I sold my AYS Jerome, I'll ship him out on monday after work. He's going to have a home from here in Finland and he is going to be somebody's first resin BJD. I think any Bluefairy is fantastic as a first doll. They certainly have charmed me even if I have other brand dolls too. I'm thinking to want to have Cafe Bluefairy Kevin as Áron, he has similar facial features to Kyle/Jerome/Louis so he would fit to be this character. Pupa*Casa has one... so hopefully I'll be able to get the money and buy him. I wouldn't like to put him on layaway so need to wait until I have the full price saved. Gus might be a good choice too, but I'd want to have a white one with Gentle body... We'll see what happens.

I'm definitely trying to keep my line in "one of each mold of Tinyfairy". I know that's going to be hard, but at least that's the case with boys. I'm not giving up with my Lin's or Xiao's. And would love to have a baked version of both... They're the weak point. I've got double Olive and May Valentine but both baked girls now have fantastic custom face ups so they'll stay. ^^ I need to glue eyelashes for Elle, she'll look absolutely the diva she is supposed to be. ^^ I'll try to photograph her during the weekend.

I wish I could buy a Tan Minifee Dark Elf Soo.

First of Spring

And that is? A proper photoshoot at the Japanese style garden nearby with a friend. We both took our Jerome's with us, she took Aslan (Minoruworld Magic School Student) and I took Tobias (basic Jerome) and Áron (At Your Service Jerome). I also had Emma (basic Xiao) and Noah (Walking with November Tommy) with me. It was great fun! ^^ I've also had great spirit on sewing for Ily and she will need her dress finished with glass beads and such. I will need to buy few other shades of beads, I only have clear and I'd love to have some shimmering light pink and white ones too...

Anyway, to the shoot! I'll put here only few photos and you can go and check the rest from my Flickr. I do wonder how you can make a cut here, I've seen those but don't know how to do that.

Photo of the Day

Well, I haven't yet gotten back to my "photo a day" challenge for myself. But I'm going to try! :D Today, Tobias got new ED eyes. I've been looking for some new eyes for him for a while. I do like the Kanis Augens that I had for him, but I was looking for something more hazelnutty shade of brown. These are perfect. ^___^ My first doll! And look how pretty he still is! :D These eyes are ED # 42.

Yesterday & Today

Yesterday I was feeling a little feverish, thus no photo. Man, feeling dizzy and having throat aching and nose and all your limbs weak. xP Anyway, I took few photos yesterday, but I didn't have the strenght to do anything else. Here's a photo of Mimosa, being ill. Hah! How original!

Snuggling like that is the best if you're ill.

Some tea and chocolate helps too. ^^

And today.. Áron got a little change since someone at DoA wished to see a Jerome and Olive girls together... Áron is definitely not a girl. But I switched his head in Chloe's Full Blossom body and.. Yeah. He still looks like he. xD I don't know if it is becouse Chloe's body has high heels on and thus is a bit taller than Natalia. xD

I already switched him back to his Dandy. xD He sure looks a lot happier with it.
