Xiu and Ping-Mei - Soom Teeniegem Ai 10/24

Soom Teeniegem Winnie Dee limited series was released at the beginning of 2010. I had a lots of thoughts about it, mostly if I should go for it or not. I wasn't sure about the whole deer leg business even if the doll itself was really cute. I thought when I bought this doll, that if I wouldn't feel it they could always be sold. When dolls are bought I buy them to keep, not to sell, but sometimes it just doesn't work and that's always disappointing. They came home at March 2010 and I decided to keep the Ai Romantic head with the neutral Teeniegem body which came with the limited set. I really liked both heads, so I ordered another Teeniegem body for the Ai open eye head on October 2010.

Xiu is the name of the Romantic droopy eared head and Ping-Mei is the open eyed one. Both girls have face up by Jesmo, Xiu's eyes are slightly opened by her too. The hooves and antlers were sold long time ago, I prefer them with the human legs and feet even tough the hooves were really funny. Xiu's eyes are Glassaugen light blue in 12mm and wig from Soom, Ping-Mei's eyes are random glass in black 14mm and wig from Crobidoll.

Xiu's shirt is by Kaede, Ping-Mei's socks are bought from Ldoll years ago and rest of the clothes by me. Shoes, not sure where they are from but I do like them a lot. They are twins, Xiu is the more in charge and Ping-Mei likes to lurk in the background. Christmas greetings to you all!

Little Christmas Meet 10/12/2016

I invited some friends over to our buildings club room to have a little Christmas Doll Meet with all kinds of dolls! I had reserved the space for about a month in advance so I would have time to prepare for it and think about many things that has to do with the arrangements. There were Spica, Tiinyan, Lunaticz, Immarre, Peippo and me. I only took few photos but admired all of the lovely dolls. ^__^

I sewed new skirt and a blouse for Penni, and I think she looks cute, the hem of the T-shirt could've been a bit more loose but I couldn't help it after sewing. I find that A-line skirt fits her little legs very well! I had also baked a cake, actually two cakes from one big recipe becouse my BF's friends were coming to play boardgames - aaand they didn't. I knew we couldn't eat both cakes so I asked my friends if they'd sacrifice themselves and have some, thus we had an Irish Dream cake with Baileys in it. Only tiny piece was wasted becouse it was so warm weather I didn't want anyone get sick eating it. Anywayyyy... to the photos.

Dollmeet - the late Birthday meet for HL

HL is Hartsilapset, our finnish forum which has just turned 11 years last month. Only proper day to get together was today, just a day before the Mother's day so it wasn't actually very good choise since quite many people backed off when they realised it was the mother's day tomorrow. Aaaanyway! We had quite fun! :D There was six of us and it was great and quite intimate little meet with quite a bunch of dolls! :D

Hartsilapset Little Christmas Meet

Yesterday was a fun day, we had our annual Little Christmas meeting in Helsinki and it was great! I think that the place we had this time was better than the one we had earlier, just becouse this was smaller and there wasn't the furthest corner so very far from others that someone could hide themself in there. It was nice to meet new people, but especially the friends you don't often meet. Everybody brings some foods or drinks, I don't know who brings in the baby carrots but I really like them! Our meet was in school where one of us is teaching, so that's a big advantage for us, it might be difficult to get all of us in a cafe or something since there are quite many people wanting to come. I guess there were around 30 people this time. I know my social meter is filled quite fast nowadays, I wonder why? Maybe it is becouse the work stress or so? Anyway, to the photos. I try to write something about the dolls if I remember who they belong!

Waiting for Christmas

Once upon a time, in a Big House, was children playing around the Christmas tree. They had nothing to do and then, the brightest of all little lightbulbs lit in Armi's head.

Xiu: What are we gonna do today?
Armi: You askin' what? 8D
Ping Mei: ...

Armi: It's first of December! We're going to make a tv-program of our own!
Xiu: I'm so good with recording!
Ping Mei: Uh oh, I wonder what's going to happen...

Armi: And I'm going to be assistantor! Ping's going to be the interviewer becouse she's cutest!
Xiu: Awww I'm not cute enough?!
Ping mei: Uuuh horrible I can't do that!

Xiu: What are we going to aske people?
Armi: About Christmas presents of course! :D Christmas is almost here!
Ping Mei: Well I guess that's not very scarey.. I guess..

Ping Mei: What'd you want Armi?

Armi: Another SOCK! Becouse I only have one! 8D
Xiu: Only one sock!
Ping Mei: You're going to get Brontosaurus!

Getting a microphone was troublesome for our tremendous trio, but they hit their heads together and got into a great solution.

Ping Mei: I'm making an interview to TV. What do you wish for Christmas?
Nikolas: Do I talk to the shoe?
Ping Mei: Uh yeah, it's our microphone now.

Nikolas: I want a robot and huge pile of candy!!!!

Kiki: I wanna have a My Little Pony, 'couse they're so cute.

Odessa: I want a friend for my white bunny.

Odessa: Mom said you can all come to our home to have some hot cocoa and cookies, if you want?
Ping Mei: Of course we'll come, cookies.. noms.

Ping Mei: What do you want for Christmas, Noelle?
Noelle: Well I don't know..

Ping Mei: You certainly want something nice?
Noelle: Well, maybe a cute plushie.

Noelle: And uh a lots of juiceboxes with little straws! I love juice!

Ping Mei: Last interview of the day: What do you wish for Christmas, Bijou?
Bijou: Shoo.

Ping Mei: Huh?
Bijou: Bis shoo.

Ping Mei: Aww it's your shoe.

Dolls

Thanks for everyone who has been there for me when I needed. And lets get back to doll things! ^^ I have to say, no matter how down I am, dolls give me comfort and joy, everyday.

I haven't had time to do much doll things, but yesterday I was at Hartsilapset Little Christmas meet. We had great time, me and Fleur. I only took few photos but talked with people a lot, it was great! Our theme was white Christmas and I dressed Fleur in white clothes. I see I have a lack of white shoes in that size and most of my dolls still need something new. I've sewed some new shirts for some of my boys and one pair or jeans for Áron, but others still need something to wear. Anyway, Fleur finally got to wear one of the new blouses, which is white as it was for theme. ^^

The LDoll 5 report thing - and few things

Well, I had truly amazing weekend at LDoll 5 at the middle(ish) of October, it was so nice to walk around and see everything. I'm a bit shy to talk to people, I think, but I had great conversations with many people! First of all, few photos and a link to my Flickr album and then few words about stuff!


Jesmoth - Cocoondolls booth. I was helping out my friends and that was a good decicion this year. ^^ Oh look at all the lovely little dollies she's created, and those shoesies!!


And Uninu's booth, I'm glad I could help my friends. It was so exiting to mark things sold. LOL.


SweetNeat's and Magistrums booth. Too bad Rorchack - Magistrum wasn't able to come to LDoll, but fabulous that SweetNeat was able to take the sculls and advertising material from him. :) I was also helping out SweetNeat at her booth. :D YAY! A little salesgirl inside was super happy about selling on behalf of my friends, it was so exiting to see something sold. ^^ Hehe. I know, I'm certainly sounding silly but it was great fun!


Raouken's corsetry, FANTASTIC!!! I loved them, bought two, the pink one with black lining and lace stuff for Irma. Irma was quite much spoiled this time around. xD


These little ones are so cute! The Poupiette and little mouses were adorable!


Dust of Dolls - these Kröt-thingies - I could've scooped all of them in my pocket and just giggle with them! They're super adorable and I really liked how they styled them all. Just looking at this little one smile makes me happy!

Just few examples, I was so happy to meet a loads of people and buy huge amount of stuff! xD I must brag a little, I bought over 800€ worth of eyes, clothes, shoes, more eyes, wigs and jewellery and such but NO dolls. Also I had saved money for WHOLE year before LDoll, so it wasn't like I put all my pay for doll stuff. I always keep in mind to pay the bills first and then save some. I actually saved with pulling cash from my account and putting the cash in a jar. xD I had made a little list of thing I would love to get and I did get most of the things I wanted.

Many of my dolls got some new eyes, and the rolling heads especially got some new eyes and few wigs. The jewellery: Adorable and sexy! Irma got the sexiest one, I had to switch the pearl from the back of her necklace to the front and remove the bow, becouse the bow just was disturbing with her huge bust. LOL.

Here's the short report from LDoll, great event five years in a row. I will definitely take a booth next year, I already began sewing for the event. The difficult part was after the event, when we heard that Lufthansa had most of their pilots in strike. MAN that was annoying. I owe a huge huge thanks to my sister who sent me a text message on Monday morning after LDoll and told me about the strike. I called to my travelling insurance company which didn't of course pay any compensations in case of a strike. SO. We needed to go to the airport and sort everything out. That quite ruined the morning and some of the Monday too. I was relieved we got new tickets with Uninu for Tuesday evening, went back to Lyon city to our hotel and find Jesmo and had some time to walk around the city and visit the fabric stores. Next morning we went to eat to a japanese restaurant near Charpennes station, I think it was called Okawali. Fantastic fried chicken with quite a lot of ginger (lol, next time I'll get it with salad instead of just rice, or with both). I don't wonder why it is so popular, food is great!

On our journey trough the city to railwaystation I got a call from Amsterdam's airport customerservice and I didn't hear it early enough to answer the call. I knew it was trouble, so as we were going to St. Exupery Airport we went straight to Lufthansa info desk. They said we should go to KLM and Air France customer service counter, becouse Lufthansa had changed our flights to theirs and, well, we'd be their problem. Lined for a while to hear that our flights via Amsterdam had been cancelled and changed to Wednesday morning. I said to the lady at the counter that it would be fabulous if we could have ANY flights that day and she found us flights to Helsinki via Brussels. And the flight was going within an hour. We didn't even think it would be so fast. We made successfully check-in for the flight from Lyon to Brussels but second flight failed, like the lady had mentioned at the counter. I was mostly a bit pissed, hugely stressed and nervous we wouldn't make it. And we only had less than 60 minutes for the change of flights. The amount of panic was indescribable and we ran like two snails to the gate which was somewhere in deep at Airport St. Exupery's ass. Only to be noticed that they were still refueling the plane. The flight was running late and in the end we had less than 30 minutes to run upstairs (no, they didn't have that alley from plane, or buss from the plane to the airport, we had to climb staircase) at Brussels airport and grab first airport personnel and ask them what we should do.

We didn't know that the check-in can be done at gate, but they said we could do that. Brussels Airport is bigger than huge, it's the hugest biggest freakin airport where I've ever been. I can't describe our relief when we noticed that the the gate to our flight was only two gates away from the one we were at the moment and we spurted at the counter line. Finally the lady at the counter said that yes, we can make the check-in right now, don't stress, it's not good for your heart. We had plus-tickets which was good, since we could go to the plane before others. AND we had 15 minutes for the restrooms and buying some Pepsi! I was so relieved to get back home. Uninu's bigger luggage was stayed behind to Brussels but gladly she didn't have any valuables in it and finally got it back after few days we got back home.

The customer service at Lufthansa desk was OK, but there was clearly not enough personnel at work, they didn't info about the strike early enough (we would've gotten the information about the strike late on Monday evening, as my friends got their info at Sunday when their flights would've been on Monday). All people at the Airports were really nice and I'm sure they had huge task to arrange flights for 1300 or so flights. Thanks to them we got home early but I really could've lived without all stress it caused. Next year I might boycott Lufthansa and buy my flights elsewere just in case. :P

The Others - Soom Dolls

I've had my share of Soom madness. I've had two of their big dolls, Heliot the God Master and Amber the Pure Spirit. The ideas for them was just fabulous. I loved the hooves on Heliot, but hated them on Amber. First Monthly I saw was the fairy thingy, Topaz. I was so bummed when I realized that you could buy them on layaway! If I'd knew that when Topaz was for sale, definitely I would've bought one even if the pointy ears were a disappointment when I saw few pics from them later. I really really wanted Heliot and Amber when I first bought them, I think I had good ideas for both and ... somewhere in the middle I just lost my interest. They were too big and heavy, difficult to pose. So I decided to wait for the Little Gem size dolls to be released.

I was really in love with Aphan, I had waited for MSD size hoofling. Aphan's ankles were too long for my taste so i didn't buy one. I did like Adamelli too, her legs and ankles with hooved feet were fabulous, but decided not to buy her. Few of my friends did and I'm sure I'll be seeing them quite a bunch in the future. I'm kinda "maybe" still with Adamelli, (or the boy, Shale or what ever his name was). Maybe, second hand price is always higher (or is it, haven't really paid attention for Little Gem's resale prices).

What I know for sure is that Teenie Gems are my thing! I love that size and their little faces and bodies! ^^ I have four now, Ai's (oe and squinty) and Bygg (oe and horny.. I mean squinty). I don't have any pictures from Lan (squinty Bygg) yet but I'm working on her so you need to wait. I've bought second body for the other heads from Soom special order for bodies and got a great match, especially I'm happy about that for Lan! How difficult it is to get a same coloured body from Soom since they do vary quite a bit. I would love to get one TG with tan, their tan is so pretty. I did like Keny but not enough to buy. I loved the green little one with those fabulous pointy ears! That's a catch that got away. ;D
