Little Granny's Christmas 10/24

The night is turning towards morning in the north where Little Granny and her friends live. Cottage is silent and Granny can sleep for a little bit longer with her friends. 

Yö kääntyy aamuun pohjoisessa, missä Pikku Mummo ja hänen ystävänsä asuvat. Mökki on hiljainen ja Mummo ystävineen saa vielä hetken levätä.

Little Granny's Christmas 6/24

Little Granny is happy how the ice-skating picnic turned out and hums by herself while putting out the camp fire. Stew was wonderful and the hot cocoa warmed everybody up perfectly. Gingerbreads were a success again and Lamb had way too many. 

Pikku Mummo on tyytyväinen luisteluretkeen ja nuotiota sammuttaessaan hyräilee itsekseen. Pata oli herkullista ja kuuma kaakao lämmitti kaikkia mukavasti. Piparkakut olivat jälleen kerran menestys ja Lammas söi ihan liian monta.

 

 

Little Granny: There, that should do.

Pikku Mummo: Siinä, tämän pitäisi riittää. 

 

Little Elf: What do you think about skating Pink Bear? You like it?

Pink Bear: It was fun, at least when I didn't fall down anymore. 

Pikku Tonttu: Mitä tykkäsit luistelemisesta Pinkki Nalle? Oliks kivaa?

Pinkki Nalle: Se ol ihan hauskaa, ainakin kun en enää kaatuillut.

 

Little Granny's Christmas 5/24

Little Granny and her friends are having a fun ice-skating picnic. Pink Bear is skating for the first time and she seems to get a hang of it quite well. 

Pikku Mummo ystävineen on pitämässä hauskaa pienellä luistelu retkellä. Tämä on Pinkin Nallen ensimmäinen luistelukerta hän näyttää päässeen mukavasti jyvälle hommasta. 

 

 

Little Elf keeps an eye on Pink Bear ready to help if there's any trouble. It's good that Pink has the kicksled to hold on to. 

Pikku Tonttu pitää Pinkkiä Nallea silmällä kaikenlaisten hankaluuksien varalta. Onneksi Pinkillä on potkukelkka apuna. 

 

Little Granny's Christmas 4/24

Little Granny, Little Elf, Pink Bear and Lamb have arrived to the ice covered tiny pond. Ice is patterned by frost flowers curling on it and joyful friends gather together to take a look at it.  

Pikku Mummo, Pikku Tonttu, Pinkki Nalle ja Lammas saapuvat pienelle jään peittämälle lammelle. Jään pintaan on muodostunut kuurankukkia ja iloiset ystävykset katsovat yhdessä lammen jäätynyttä pintaa.

Pink Bear: Uh oh, I feel like there's a lot of ice! How do we know if it's tough enough?

Pinkki Nalle: Uhhuh, siinäpä on paljon jäätä! Kuinka me tiedetään kestääkö se? 

 

Little Elf: Well, we're in the middle of winter, the ice has had a lot of time to thicken. 

Little Granny: It is really strong enough to hold all of us and even more. 

Pink Bear: *Nervously* Waiii I wouldn't be so sure about it. 

Pikku Tonttu: Noh, on jo keskitalvi, jäällä on kyllä ollut tarpeeksi aikaa jäätyä paksuksi kerrokseksi. Pikku Mummo: Se on ihan varmasti tarpeeksi paksua kantamaan meidät kaikki ja enemmänkin. 

Pinkki Nalle: *Hermostuneesti* Wääää enpä olisi siitä noin varma.

Little Granny's Christmas 1/24

It's winter evening, stars are sparkling in the sky and frost covers trees and branches.
On talvinen iltapäivä, tähdet loistavat taivaalla ja kuura peittää puut ja oksat.


Little cottage on top of the hill has lights on it's windows. Maybe Little Granny is at home!
Mäen päällä pienessä mökissä on valot. Ehkäpä Pikku Mummo on kotona!

Eliza Day - Dollmore Zaoll Luv 2/24

Eliza Day is special girl. I bought her around February 2011 from a friend. Her face up and body blush had been made by the previous owner and artist Jesmo. She was first bought as a company for another french resin doll but I ended up selling the Limhwa Half Elf I had. Eliza Day was bought before the Zaoll dolls were produced from regular resin, and I don't remember if I could've gotten a new one with the new resin back then. I didn't really think about it and so she has really much yellowed all over. Recently I put her for sale in our Finnish FB group but as I now realised I can't sell her I took her off the sale site.

So, today is Eliza's day. I've been thinking about the clothes she should wear and shoes and such, but she can basicly wear all tops I have, but I try not to make her look more yellow than she already is. If I do I still hope she will look cute in everything she wears. Clothes in these photos are made by yours truly, she likes the blouse and I kinda think the grey skirt and stripey socks goes with it ok. She shares a wig with one of my older Minifee dolls but I'll definitely buy another one of similar wigs like this Bluefairy shaggy cut wig she now has. Her eyes are Enchanted Doll Eyes in 14mm size. I guess the eyes could be smaller but they are nice even if a bit too big. I had to assist her arms with metal pins on the elbow joints so that she would hold the pose. (In fact I did that for Akiko too, since they're single jointed dolls and any little trick helping the posing is great!). Have a nice day!

Akiko - Luts Delf Christmas Event 2005 1/24

Yay, it's finally December. As a first Advent calendar doll I'm introducing Akiko. She's been with me since September 2006. She's a lovely girl, I really liked the shape of the eyes - as well as so many others - the sculpt of Juri 05 is super charming. I bought this girl from Den of Angels from someone whose nick was then Staci. She had the face up made by this artist and tough I really liked it the lips were worn and I wanted to refresh the look so I asked my friend Jesmo to make another one similar to the original one. Like most of my older dolls Akiko would need a fresh look on her as well as good new elastics and cleaning. This outfit is from Luts too I think, it was bought second hand soon after I received her and it's been her favourite for long time. The absolutely amazing wool socks are made by Letizia. Akiko got them as a gift when I had my 10 year doll hobby anniversary meet. Akiko had longer black Monique Gold wig earlier but I changed it to this natural black from same manufacturer few years back. Her eyes are from Enchanted Doll Eyes, size 18 I think, I just can't remember the colour. Here are few photos from Akiko in the set I build for these Christmas photos. I hope they'll bring you all things ending in 'olly. I'm trying to make the best photos I can, even if the light is not on my side in this as the time of the year it is what it is. I might want a light tent or what ever those are called someday. :)

Crafting Little Granny's Christmas

Happy Holidays to them who still have some, I got back to work on 27th and will have to work trough the New Years Eve and New Years Day as well. No rest for the wicked! Anyway, the whole month of December went with photographing and making of the Little Granny's Christmas story. I thought I started making it early enough but I soon learned I hadn't reserved it enough time before December. I had finished the script in the beginning of October, I think. I know  it was mostly finished before a little visit towards Tampere meeting some dollyfriends in last weekend of October. I had to do a little changes in the way, but that was all towards good and it needed those, definitely. I began crafting the first things on October 21st and I also had the Inktober challenge going on at the same time so I know that maybe next year I'll have to choose only one big project for October.

I work full time in morning and evening shifts so it was really a bit too much to photograph, resize photos and finally post it online before or after work. Not to mention I hadn't sewed the most of the outfits soon enough to only spend time photographing and I hadn't made all the props either which of course made me thinking what the hell have I gotten into. At one point I had as much as six stories sceduled in the blog but then I had days I didn't work with the story at all becouse I had booked some travelling first with friends and then with workmates, visit to the in-laws etc things I couldn't cancel at that point. With days like that you just can't do anything else becouse it is super tiring to be social for full day or weekend. It was of course, nice to see friends and family but I should've sceduled myself better in making the story and make more in the days I had time for myself. I had to cancel at least one dollmeet and meeting with friends but it was something I had to do, becouse I really wanted to make it before Christmas. I hope people will understand it wasn't so that I didn't want to meet them, it was just something I had to do that time. I hadn't set any REAL deadline for anything for myself (which was really stupid), so I was resizing and posting stories for the last minute until it was time to go to sleep and leave to visit family back at home-home.

Here are some things I crafted for Little Granny's Christmas and some things I bought too. But first, the gang! I apologise in advance for the quality of the photos, as I mostly used my cell phone for photographing WIP things and man it's getting old, light was sucky as well since it winter time.

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 18

While Little Granny and her friends were having a little break and reindeers had gone to see if they can find the way home, there came a huge bird and startled everybody.
Kun Pikku Mummo kavereineen oli viettämässä pientä taukoa ja porot olivat lähteneet etsimään tietä kotiin, tuli suuri siivekäs ja säikäytti kaikki.




Big bird: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you all!
Little Granny: That's ok, you just popped in here so suddenly we got a bit startled.
Little Elf: Gosh!
Iso lintu: Olen pahoillani, ei ollut tarkoitus pelästyttää teitä kaikkia!
Pikku Mummo: Ee se mitään, tulit tänne vain niin äkkiä jotta vähän säikähdimme.
Pikku Tonttu: Hitsiliinikkä!

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 16

It's quite early in the morning and Little Elf, Pink Bear and Lamb has already woken up. Little Elf is pulling her shoes on.
On vielä aikainen aamu ja Pikku Tonttu, Pinkki Nalle ja Lammas ovat jo heränneet. Tonttu kiskoo kenkiä jalkaansa.



Little Elf: Could you please wake up Granny and Postal Elf, Lamb?
Lamb: Ba-aha.
Pikku Tonttu: Voisitko herättää Mummon ja Posti Tontun, Lammas?
Lammas: Bä-ähä.

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 14

Little Elf and her friends - or rather Lamb - has bumped into a little angry fairy god mother named Lila.
Pikku Tonttu ja hänen ystävänsä - tai lähinnä Lammas - törmäsi kärttyiseen pieneen haltiakummiin nimeltä Lila.


Little Elf: We are so sorry about the noise and Lamb is very sorry to jump on you. She thought you're a firefly.
Pikku Tonttu: Olemme niin pahoillamme metelistä ja Lammaskin pyytää anteeksi kun ryntäsi päällesi. Hän luuli sinua tulikärpäseksi.


Lamb: Baaa-aaaah-ah.
Lammas: Bäää-äääh-äh.

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 11

Little Granny, Little Elf, Pink Bear and Lamb has bumped into some helpful reindeers who think they saw the Postal Elf.
Pikku Mummo, Pikku Tonttu, Pinkki Nalle ja Lammas kohtasivat avuliaita poroja jotka luultavasti näkivät Posti Tontun.


Reindeer: What do you mean it was that way? You know excactly that it was MY way!?
Squinty Reindeer: Oh.. well if you say so.
Poro: Mitä sinä tarkoitat että tuohon suuntaan? Tiedät takuulla että soli sinne minne mää osoitin!
Sirrisilmäinen poro: Aih... No jos niin sanot.


Both again: It was that way.
Kumpikin uudelleen: Se oli tuohon suuntaan.

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 10

Little Granny and her friends had found the Postal Elf's kicksled and they decided to drive it downhill. Indeed they did!
Pikku Mummo ja hänen ystävänsä löysivät Posti Tontun potkukelkan ja päättivät laskea sillä mäen alas. Ja niin he tosiaan tekivät!


Little Elf: Oh Grannyy! Granny where are you! Are you OK?
Pikku Tonttu: Ohoi Mummo! Missä olet? Oletko kunnossa?

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 9

Lamb, Little Elf, Pink Bear and Little Granny left Granny's cottage to find the Postal Elf. They walk down the hill and come to a level where the steep hillside goes down.
Lammas, Pikku Tonttu, Pinkki Nalle ja Pikku Mummo lähtivät mökiltä etsimään Posti Tonttua. He laskeutuvat kävellen rinnettä ja tulevat mäen päälle josta jyrkkä rinne viettää alaspäin.





Lamb: BAAAH! *Shouts eagerly.*
Lammas: BÄÄÄÄH! *Huutaa innoissaan.*

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 6

Little Granny has filled the table with crafting supplies, paints and colour pencils. She also wants some Christmas music and what else could be the perfect companion than her old radio cassette player. Tune in the Christmas Radio and the Reindeer games will begin!
Pikku Mummo on varannut pöydälle askartelutarvikkeita, maaleja ja värikyniä. Hän haluaa myös joulumusiikkia luomaan tunnelmaa ja mikäpäs olisikaan täydellisempi tähän tarkoitukseen kuin hänen vanha kasettisoittimensa. Viritä Jouluradion taajuudelle ja pian alkaa Petteri Punakuononkin nenu helottaa!


Little Granny: I think we're ready to begin!
Pikku Mummo: Olemme valmiita aloittamaan!


Little Granny: Please take your places so we can begin.

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 5

Little Granny had fallen from the roof when she was trying to get Lamb's attention and they finally got in the cottage.
Pikku Mummo oli pudonnut katolta yrittäessään saada Lampaan huomaamaan heidät ja viimeinkin he pääsivät sisälle mökkin.


Little Granny: Well I must say I've never fallen from the roof like that before!
Pikku Mummo: Enpä ole koskaan aikasemmin pudonnut katolta tuolla tavalla!


Little Elf: What? You have fallen from there before?
Pikku Tonttu: Mitä? Oletko kuitenkin pudonnut sieltä aikasemminkin?

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 4

Little Granny, Little Elf and Pink bear had walked back to Granny's cottage and it seems like she's forgotten where she put the key to her home!
Pikku Mummo, Pikku Tonttu ja Pinkki Nalle olivat kävelleet takaisin Mummon mökille ja mummo unohti minne hän oli laittanut kotiavaimensa!


Little Granny: Well, now we have to think what to do!
Pikku Mummo: Nonniin, mitteehän sitä pitäs tehä!


Little Granny: I don't dare to break in from the windows or doors.
Little Elf: Gosh you might hurt yourself! It's not an option!
Pink Bear: How about if you climb in from the chimney?
Pikku Mummo: Minä en uskalla rikkoa ikkunoita tai ovia päästäkseni sisään. 
Pikku Tonttu: Ei tule kuuloonkaan, voisit satuttaa itsesi! 
Pinkki Nalle: Mitä jos kiipeäisit sisään savupiipusta?

Little Granny's Christmas - Day 2

Warm light is shining from Little Granny's cottage windows. She's at home with Little Elf and Lamb having some nice coffee and treats.
Lämmin valo paistaa Pikku Mummon mökin ikkunoista. Mummo on päiväkahvilla Pikku Tontun ja Lampaan kanssa.


Little Granny: And then we decided that Pink should go home for the night and come back today.
Pikku Mummo: Ja sitten me päätettiin että Nallen pitäisi mennä kotiin yöksi ja tulla tänään takaisin.

Little Elf had invited Granny to meet her outside.


Little Granny: Why so serious face Little Elf?
Little Elf: I think there's one thing we've ignored enough right now.


Little Elf: You know Christmas is kinda my job. And we haven't paid attention towards something important yet.
